Seems interesting: the concept of Network Audio Dac is not too familiar for me though. What I'm doing is to use a similar setup, but instead of the "Network Audio Dac" I have a probably more traditional combination of a Streamer (Raspberry based) and a DAC in NOS mode, connected each other through I2S; all connection to the router (PC->Router>Streamer) are in optical fiber. Could you therefore elaborate on how you made the Network Audio Dac, please? Thank you and my compliments.

Thank you Fryderck, I’ll try it; the result seems close to the one if using grub-customizer from within - say - Ubuntu, and make a new Grub2 entry pointing to the ISO. The problem remains having the WTF-CONFIG folder accessible, and therefore keep the configuration at hand instead of having to reinput it at every boot. I tried to DD a working USB installation to partitions made on purpose (WTF-PLAY and WTF-CONFIG), but then the Grub2 entry I make to direct boot to the first folder struggles finding the root and ends in Kernel panic.....

Hi Fryderck, I am trying - unsuccessfully - to install WTFPlay on a SSD partition. Would you have a suggestion on how to do it, and have the system recognized by an existing Grub2 install? Thanks in advance! Tranfa

Hello, I'm new to Snakeoil, but was wondering if the RPi version is still in progress. Ciao! Tranfa

Thank you Jussi, will try to contact you on this once back from a Christmas visit to my family - and especially with my pc in front of me...

The dialog is missing. On conversion, I tried dsd->dsd to different frequencies and to the same frequence but with filters on. The first one did not work but the second one worked, only for a while a now it doesn’t. Not sure if this is intended.

I'm testing the Pro too. I'm having an odd behaviour coming to the meters: after the first closing of the system, I can't visualize them anymore...and I don't think I changed much in the settings. Also, coming to the conversion, I'm not sure I fully understood the limitations of the evaluation version.

Optane SSD as Boot drive - SQ Nirvana?
tranfa replied to lmitche's topic in Disk Storage / Music Library Storage
A question from my side: which version of Windows10 would you install on an Optane SSD? Anything already optimized? Any optimization procedure? -
Maybe the NAA Device isn’t set up so to obtain an IP adress automatically? Just an idea.
-
Exactely. In this way, the address is assigned by the DHCP server running on the Windows PC.
-
And, by the way, no need of a cross Ethernet cable for the direct connection. A straight one did the job.
-
Yes, I installed "DHCP server" on the Windows 10 PC running HQP. I left the second NIC of this same PC (which I used for the direct connection to the Futro holding the NAA) with no IP assigned, obtaining it automatically. The same on the Futro (which holds a Debian OS on which the daemon runs). Following the wizard of "DHCP server", the program gave automatically an IP address to the Futro - which allows its discovery. It was quite simple, actually: no need of imposing specific ip addresses.

Not sure if this can help (namely tboooe), but I managed to see the NAA from a Windows based HQPlayer installation in IPV6 mode, both trough a direct connection and a more usual connection through a router. In order to have the direct connection, I installed DHCP Server for Windows http://www.dhcpserver.de/cms/ (Linux seems to have a similar package: https://www.tecmint.com/install-dhcp-server-in-ubuntu-debian/) and launched it, which allowed the NAA to get an ip from the Windows installation via the direct connection, and become visible both via IPV4 and IPV6 to HQPlayer.

Thank you jcn, I knew it would have been noobish... Let me insist aa little bit though. My logic is the following: Moode is indeeed a player, based on a Linux kernel. My purpose is to be able to output DSD via I2S towards my DAC. I happen to be able to output DSD from Moode via I2S - which I can't do with the Linux+NAA image, because it doesn't have the "driver" for my DAC. So I was wondering; is there a way (via SSH?) to install an additional package, like the Linux NAA one, into my I2S/DSD capable Moode...? This would be the solution to my troubles.

A quick noobish question from my side. Would it be possible to install the Network Audio Daemon of HQPlayer in Moode Audio for Raspberry? I would like to use a Raspberry PI as NAA connected to my I2S Dac.
