Just had a chance to try this and FM, F'ing Magic. It appears that a "-" can be problematic. Thank you so much!

Thanks for that, it is helpful and especially thanks to Miska, when the program works, which is most of the time, it is really useful.

Thanks for the reply Bladman, unfortunately I don't have anything but the DFF files to work with. I have had some tagging problems with other file formats and found that converting the file from AIFF->AIFF, as an example, would allow me to then tag them. I thought perhaps this might work with these DFF files, but the only way that I know of to convert DFF->DFF is JRiver which of course would involve a conversion to PCM.

First I must thank Bogi for this excellent software. Most of the time it works like a charm but on some folders that I attempt to convert it will do some of the files but not others. Wondering if anyone might have some insights or suggestions. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the replies. From the googling that I've done there doesn't appear to be a way to uncompress these files other then on the fly playback?
  6. Late breaking update. Some of the albums that I am trying to convert still just flash the cmd prompt window and nothing happens. Any suggestions/thoughts?
  7. Thank you bogi and dtb300 for your assistance, works like a champ.
  8. Thank you so much bogi, I will try that Monday. What confused me is that I used 7zip to unzip dff2dsf.zip to the folder which is how I interpreted the instructions but there was actually 1 more step. Thanks again.
  9. D'oh, light dawns on marblehead. With the pause added I get a cmd window that says "press any key to continue" When I do the cmd prompt window vanishes.
  10. Not following 2) add a line containing only pause... You don't mean "AddContextMenuItem.batpause"
  11. Hi dtb300. Pretty sure that I followed the instructions to the letter 1. unzipped dff2dsf to desktop/DFF to DSF 2. unzipped DFF2DSF to desktop/DFF to DSF 3. Ran AddContextMenuItem.bat 4. Right click on dff file and click on DFF to DSF in the context menu I get a flash of the cmd window but no converted file and no joy. the unzipped dff2dsf-122.zip archive shows linux64, linux32, osx and win32. I am running W7 64bit is this the problem?

    DFF to DSF

I've tried converting some DFF files to DSF using either DFF to DSF Converter Light or dff2dsf with no luck. dff2dsf just quickly flashes the cmd window and then nothing and DFF to DSF comes back with the error message that "the file is not conventional dff perhaps it was converted using JRiver." Just wondering if there are any options left? TIA
