  1. Thanks Miska. Too bad BBB (with Botic driver) is the only option to get DSD256 via i2s output.
  2. @Miska Do you still have NAA image for Beagle Bone Black?
  3. Hi @Miska: I'm using trial HQPlayer Desktop now, and sound quality is top notch when using with Roon on the same computer. Before committing to buy a license, I would like to ask some questions. 1. My music source is local music library, qobuz (both of them will be streamed from RoonCore on NAS) and youtube (streaming wav from foobar as UPnP server). Can your HQPlayer Embedded play both role of Roon Endpoint & UPnP Renderer? Both foobar & RoonCore will be on a different computer with the HQPlayer Embedded. 2. Can I connect HQPlayer Embedded with its NAA directly through ethernet cable or I need to connect them to ethernet switched? 2. Does the HQPlayer embedded have same amount of filters, modulations as HQPlayer desktop? 3. If I want to use Spotify Connect, how can I connect it with HQPlayer desktop? Thanks in advance
  4. This module can only put out 1A, so with your requirement, it is not enough.
  5. The ebay link is a DC-Dc converter, which is an SMPS itself, so you will have no gain from using them with your Seasonic PSU. The LT3045 module is great, but they are all current limited. Given your requirement is quite high power, and from what I see, you don't have good background on electrical domain, my advice for you is go search around and buy a pre-made product. It will be safer and more economical
  6. I have made a contact with engineered.ch. They said that the MRMOD module is included with NMR interface, so we only need to buy a NMR interface. Sorry for my mistake
  7. @chauphuong: From what I see in their website, you need to buy a NMR module and the MRMOD module and a 3.3V PSU to form a complete digital transport https://www.engineered.ch/products/nmr/#cc-m-product-12915261822
  8. The Bifrost on the pictures is Bifrost Delta Sigma, not Bifrost Multibit. The Multibit variations must have AD5547 chip like in the picture. The phrase "Bifrost MB v1.25" implies that this is Bifrost main board v2.5 If the seller sells those boards and advertises as Bifrost Multibit board, he is a scam.
  9. From what I read, PD2 is not R2R DAC, as it uses AKM4490 as DAC chip. R2R chip DAC8812 is used only as attenuator for preamp section
  10. I think you go too far for the past few days. Do you find anyone say iFi Micro is better than the Yggdrasil? I have heard both of them (in fact I have owned the iDSD micro in the past and apart from its fairly pleasant sound the Yggdrasil destroyed it in every way, include detail, soundstage, imaging and the realism of detail presentation, even when the iDSD micro used its ultimate power, DSD256 upsampling through HQPlayer). You claimed Schiit are overpriced because they are charging $130 for Yggdrasil trials. It's so nonsense. Do you really know about what the audio business go on? Let me clarify, the price of anything you buy from dealer is always nealy double the actual price of the good (to pay for dealer's profit and tax). You can auction the DACs for free, but in fact the trial fee is always included in the total price I must pay if you end up buy them. The Schiit business model is different, they sell directly so you don't need to pay for dealer fee anymore. In return, you need to pay something when you want to try, the company is not charity. About the lack of feature, in my experiences, if the DAC contain so much features, many of them will be sub-par, unless it is pricey. Let talk about the volume control. There are digital and analog volume control. Digital volume now is very good, but not the ultimate choice of audiophile. The analog volume control when implemented well enough will surpass any digital volume control, but they are pricey. Schiit can easily get sub par digital volume control for the Yggdrasil but they refuse to do this because it is not optimal. Many people, me included, appreciate the manufactures like Schiit, who always want to do their best and don't fool their customer to buy something sub par for the inflated price. Back to topic: the Yggdrasil is not the best DAC out there. MSB Analog or TotalDAC D1 are better but they cost an arm and a leg compare to the 2k price of Yggrasil. From my expericences. the Yggdrasil is the only one under 5000 USD can hold their own again that two monsters (better than PS Audio DS, Auralic Vega, Chord Hugo TT,...)
  11. Thanks Alex. My setup now is Dual PC+ Windows server 2012, Jplay >> Regen >> Geek Pulse Sfi >> HD650. Compare to my old system, the Regen brings very noticable effect, bass is tighter, blacker soundstage and more natural timbre. But if I could use my 12V LPS with the Regen, I would expect something even more special to happen.
  12. Hi Alex, Since you owns the Geek Pulse, I just want to ask if it is safe to plug the Regen with the LPS 12V 2A (the Jay's Audio LPS) and connect to Geek Pulse DAC. I know that Geek Pulse only use the USB power to setup the handshake with computer. So in theory it is possible, but I am very hesitate to do with the fear of breaking the Regen. Thanks

    HQ Player

Thanks ericuco. I changed DoP to none, so the output now is DSD256.

    HQ Player

I just want to ask if trial version of HQPlayer disables upsampling DSD256, because no matter what I choose DSD limit rate, my audio files only play on maximum 6144000Hz on SDM mode (I use iDSD nano with newest firmware which supports DSD256)
  15. @ Windows X: I have a problems with fidelizer free version. Normally I use audiophile option with hqplayer and fiio e17 and it works nicely. Recently when I use ifi iDSD nano and convert PCM to dsd128 with "audiophile" optimization on fidelizer, the sound has so much cracks. But this setting works well with "workstation" option. My computer is i7 3770k, so I think it is enough to handle PCM to DSD conversion. I just want to ask, if fidelizer pro can make my setting work with "audiophile" option, because I think that sound on this optimization levels is absolutely great, much more than on "workstation" optimization
