Thanks guys for the additional input and suggestions. I did a hardwire tonight and no dropouts! I will run it this way for a day or to make sure. If it keeps working good, then I will have to try resolve the wifi issue. I just bought a new router a few weeks ago. I hope I can resolve the issue because I do not want to keep it hardwired. I suppose my computers wifi card could be an issue at this point. Like I said in my initial post the dropouts only happened in the evening and only when I opened my browser to do other things. If I kept the browser closed no music dropouts or music stuttering. But during morning and afternoon I could have multiple websites open and music never dropped out.

I tried 3 other channels this evening . No improvement.

There is just the one provider in this area. They provide both internet and cable tv service.

I checked and there is only one other person on my channel. I cannot figure out how to change channels. I did a hardwire and it seemed to help, but it is not convenient. Thanks for your comments and assistance.

No, there is only myself. I get the same dropouts with my music files also, whether played from my I tunes or windows media player. I am really dumbfounded! I will try a hard wire to see. Regardless, I never have an issue in the morning or through mid day. Thanks for your input and comments.

Not sure if this is the correct forum heading to seek help, but thought I would post it here. I have taken a genuine interest in computer music and enjoy internet radio and downloading I tune files. However I have a frustrating issue and seek some knowledgeable assistance. My setup is a basic laptop on my desk in the bedroom, using a pair of Emotiva 4s powered speakers and a dragonfly dac. My music sources run fine during the morning through late afternoon, no dropouts even when I have the browser open and visiting other sites or doing emails. However in late afternoon and throughout the evening when I open browser to view other sites I get numerous dropouts and what I can only describe is music full of static for a few seconds off and on. This a daily occurrence. I thought maybe the Schiit WYRD (decrappifier) might do the trick, so I purchased it and received it yesterday. Unfortunately it did not help. I have used all three of my usb ports, and no change. I am on wireless, and can only think of two things with my limited knowledge, and that is too much traffic in the evening or maybe the service provider is cutting back on bandwidth?? I apologize for the long thread, but wanted to describe my problem as best I could. Thanks in advance. All comments and suggestions welcome with open arms!
