  1. I haven't figure out how this forum works. Thanks. Probably the powered speakers I don't really want a separate stereo system I've been ill for a long time and would probably not get up. I've got my laptop but I'm so tired of inconsistent crap music for the longest time I wasn't listening to music at all felt like crap and would zone out on TV. Now I never turn the TV on and have got all my music and really old music hundreds of vinyl going back to the seventies. Curious to see how those will record and be cleaned up etc with software. thanks for the advice to everyone.
  2. I have a bunch of stuff from the past I don't know what's the smartest way to get the best sound. I have now MacBook Pro 2014, AppleTV, M-Audio Firewire Solo, Windows Desktop 7/8.1 with Delta 66 w/Omnistudio Box, Turntable, Tascom 4-Track, a Reel-to-Reel, all my hundreds of albums, reel tapes, cassettes with home made tapes and tapes of the radio like Dr Demento in the 70s, KROQ early 80s that I am recording. I only have Bose Companion3 speakers that are FU because the jacks. My first dilemma is because i basically have no speakers...should I go with the old standard with an amp or powered speakers and through one on the boxes. I bought some cheap bookshelf JBLs just so i could hear when I was recording the albums and stuff and my old Kenwood amp is toast. I don't know what's what anymore. Advice needed. thank you.
