Which kernel extension?

Can you run me through this again? This is the view I get all the time with the remote, even with 'use media keys' option unchecked. I thought it was standard behaviour.

Try this setting in Preferences/System Audio. Set Native DSD Compatibility to DSD over PCM Standard 1. Don't know if it will work for your DAC but it solved a similar problem for mine.
