Hi jdjaye, It's the limitation of the Marantz. When playing SACD, marantz will not output it digitally, it will only output it via its analog outs. The limitation of Marantz digital outs is upto 192kHz only. Higher than that, output will be analog only.

hi jdjaye, Connecting my SA8005 to the M-DAC+ improved details, sound stage and airiness. Sound is more cleaner, although the 8005 is already good sounding, it just made it better. Connected the 8005 via Coax, using Audioquest Coaxial cable. Both my NA6005 and SA8005 are now connected to the DAC. NA6005 connected via Optical again using Audioquest Toslink Cable. the 6005 has only optical so i have no other option.. This is an awesome DAC, good sounding right out of the box and it's just getting better everyday. All smiles while listening..

I have a highly modified Windows 7 Pro on a Dell Latitude Laptop running only services that's needed for windows to run. No updates and all devices and services that's not needed for audio is disabled including keyboard, battery(this is connected to a UPS) and LCD monitor. Been using it as is with no problem for nearly 3 years now and never had any problem. Even Lid is never opened as i can remotely turn on and shutdown the machine if i want to.

Just got this a few days ago.. Sounds awesome right out of the box. Been running now for 60 hours. Very good details, lively dynamic and big sound stage. Very happy. Cant stop smiling listening to any music i throw into it. It replaced my TEAC UD-501 with Sound Affairs MOD. The aluminum finish is very elegant. OLED Display is very classy, when you look at it from the listening position, you would think the display is a white sticker on a black background. Cool. Remote is very solid and has some weight to it even with it's small size, has aluminum finish as well instead of plastic. Solid buttons and very responsive. Feature packed DAC with Filters and stuff. You can also mute the sound from the dac instead of the source. It also receives track information when playing a CD player, you can disable this of course. The display also has the option to display the actual resolution, so sometimes you will see 44.099kHZ instead of the normal 44.1. You can disable this of course to display normally. So far i'm very very happy with what i'm hearing. Big Soundstage, Airy, Clean Sounding, clean tight/tunefull bass and very Lively dynamic. I was choosing between NuPrime DAC10, W4S DAC-1 LE w/ Femto and MDAC. I never compared any of them but i chose the MDAC because it's readily available at the store. The other two dacs will have a waiting period of 2-3 weeks. So far, NO REGRETS. Music keeps flowing, and i'm all smile... Using JRiver running in highly modified for Audio Windows 7 Pro 64 biy My other DAC experiences are: Rega DAC Marantz NA7004 Audiostreamer/DAC TEAC UD-501 w/ Sound Affairs MOD Marantz SA8005 SACD/DSD DAC(This is now connected to the M-DAC+)

Just yesterday, my Marantz 6005 made another Firmware update. Anyboyd knows what improvement this 2nd update is? Cant seem to find anything about it on the net even in Marantz Website theres nothing

I updated mine and to be honest i dont know what has improved simply because i updated it right out of the box as soon as i connected it. But so far performance and audio quality, im very satisfied with this unit.

Try to assign a static IP on the Marantz and reserve that static IP to be used only by the Marantz on your router. It happens as well on my NA6005 but after making the IP static it never happened again.

Just bought a Marantz NA6005 replacing the NA7004. Awesome player, a lot more better than my previous NA7004(doesnt do gapless using Marantz APP). NA6005 do gapless PUSH/PULL with no issue using Own Remote App. Also tried using JRiver and Jremote with no issue on gapless. No gapless playing MP3 and APE though. To solve this problem for Mp3, i use foobar as DLNA server. foobar converts mp3 to WAV while playing. 6005 recieves it as WAV and play gaplessly Sound is awesome by the way.. very difficult to see diff against my Laptop with vs Fully MOdified TEAC UD-501 DSD dac
