  1. I have been a most satisfied owner of the Audiobyte Black Dragon since 2016. My setup includes a 10' x10' x10' treated room, a NAS (UNRAID) - Cat6 cable - Custom Server - Pink Faun I2S/Pink Faun USB cables - Audiobyte Black Dragon - direct connect Sennheiser 700 headphones/generic balanced 5' cables - Neumann 120KH active speakers. My Custom Server runs Windows 2016 Server with JRMC 26, Audiophile Optimizer 3.0 and Sonarworks Reference 4. I use I2S always now. I have an enormous collection of ripped CD's/recorded LP's on my NAS, a relative few hi-rez FLAC LP's and no DSD's. I'm extremely content with my system and, in fact, will rave about it given the opportunity. It's THAT good and then some. IF I were open to change I would try HQ Player with upsampling/conversion to DSD. My hardware has horsepower to spare and I could demo HQP so the only cost would be that unrenewable, priceless commodity we call "TIME". Maybe in my next life or currently in a multiverse. You cannot go wrong with Audiobyte/Pink Faun/Neumann/Sennheiser. WMW
  2. SO - Is there any way to 'transfer' the metadata from an MP3 file to, say, the FLAC file from which the MP3 was generated? I'm thinking: Convert my FLAC files to MP3 (I use dbpoweramp), have BLISS tag the MP3's, then move all those tags back to the original FLAC files. Conceptionally, this seems feasible. Is this possible?
  3. View Classified C.A.P.S. V2 In 2013 I assembled the CAPS v2 as described by Chris Connacker: https://www.computeraudiophile.com/ca/ca-academy/computer-audiophile-pocket-server-caps-v20/ The server is fanless with no moving parts and benefits from an eSATA port. Parts employed: Motherboard: Jetway NF96FL-525-LF ($167) CPU: Intel Atom D525 1.8 GHz dual core 64 bit (included with motherboard) RAM: 4 Gb (2 X 2Gb) 667 DDR2 ($106) Power supply: Casetronic PW-12V5A-L5 60w supply ($23.50) Case: Origen M10 (black) ($320) SOtM tX-USB PCI to USB card ($339) SOtM In-Line SATA Power Noise Filter ($65) SSD: 64mb I initially installed Windows 7 Ultimate and JRiver MC 16. Eventually I replaced Windows 7 with WS2012 and Audiophile Optimizer (1.3 or 1.4, I don’t recall which). I recently upgraded to WS2016, AO 2.20 and JRMC 23 and think the sound improved, however no measurements were made and no attempt to minimize conformational bias undertaken. I am unable to transfer the AO and JRMC software (vendor’s restriction) and am reluctant to transfer the WS2016 (I bought this on eBay for a song and have concerns about authenticity even though the OS registered when installed). I’m, therefore, selling the server with no OS. The case isn’t perfect (6.5/10), but functionally the server is excellent. I think $230 including CONUS shipping and PayPal fee is a fair price. 4. View Classified Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC PLUS I am the original owner of this Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC PLUS, serial number EE11080059. It is in excellent condition +. The ‘PLUS’ is noted for 3 things primarily: 1) Tube or solid state output, 2) Punching far above its weight class and 3) Allowing easy customization/tweaking via rolling output tube and/or op-amps. The ‘PLUS’ is wonderful, but I moved to i2S from USB and from speakers to headphones years ago with combined DAC/HPA and Pink Faun i2S interface (PINK FAUN and Meister Jord cannot be recommended highly enough!!). The ‘PLUS’ has been stored 7+ years (I blame this on an acute, since treated, case of the ‘Computer Audiophilia’ virus). The ‘PLUS’ is completely stock. I removed the preamp tube and used the unit in solid state mode exclusively; in my system this sounded best. YRMV. The stock tube (Shuguang 12AU7) is included. I paid $1100.00 for the ‘PLUS’ in 2012. I am selling the unit for $330.00 which includes shipping and PayPal fees. You will not find this much flexibility and sound for this little money in any DAC IMHO. Highlights of the MiniMax Vacuum Tube DAC Plus: • Sabre ES9018 DAC chips • Separate Power Transformers for digital and analog sections • Inputs : AES/EBU, BNC, RCA, OPTICAL and USB • M2Tech OEM 24bit 192KHz Asynchronous USB input • Tube and solid state output selectable • Phase In/Out selectable • Sampling rates: 16-32bit / 32KHz-192KHz http://www.stereomojo.com/EASTERN ELECTRIC TUBE DAC PLUS REVIEW.html/EASTERNELECTRICTUBEDACPLUSREVIEW.html http://www.dagogo.com/audio-blast-eastern-electric-tube-dac-plus-digital-to-analog-converter http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2010/12/eastern-electric-minimax-tube-dac/ http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/1212/eastern_electric_minimax_dac_plus.htm http://www.eeaudio.com/eeaudio_012.htm Seller WMW Date 08/27/21 Price 330.00 USD Category Digital to Analog Converters

To all APPLE fan boys and girls: I've come to believe that owning Apple products is God's way of indicating you have more disposable income than you can intelligently manage... I own numerous Apple products as does my family... Nuff said.

Then i purchased an iPhone. It was locked into an exclusive contract Steve inked with AT &T so that was the only carrier usable. I live in the Detroit suburbs (we ain't talkin' the sticks here people) and because of horrendous cell tower coverage, in some 4 years I never completed ONE phone call without a drop while driving home from the hospital. This persisted until until I could switch to Verizon.
