  1. I think it's solely dependent on your provider (and some of the settings of their desktop app, which you can tweak), but yes, it does take quite a while to upload that amount.
  2. I use Crashplan. Works very well. Price is about 6 Euros p/month for unlimited backup.
  3. I'm with the "simple" crowd: I use only the most basic tags: jazz, classical, blues, rock, etc. For further differentiation I use playlists: 20th Century Classical, British Beat bands, etc.
  4. Yes, they say that the license you will get now is for mc21; you can't buy a license for mc20 anymore (but the new licenses will work fine with it).
  5. There's some discussion about this over at the JRiver forum too: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=80221.0;topicseen I added my experiences there as well. The bottom line (for me) is that streaming hi-res from the cloud is still too much hit and miss at the moment. It's not impossible, but for now I've decided to stick with local storage (with backups in the cloud though; I have an Office 365 subscription, which gives you unlimited storage on MS OneDrive)
  6. I've recently switched from iTunes 12 (on Windows) to JRiver Media Center and I can highly recommend it. In fact, I should have switched years ago ;-) Regarding your questions: 1. The price you mention is for a 'master license'. For a single license (for use on 1 pc) the price is 49,98, which is very reasonable for software of this quality. 3. Correct, and you can add more libraries if you want. (Your "old" iTunes library next to a new one for all your hi-res stuff for example) 4. If you want you can even go higher than 24/96. JRiver supports FLAC up to 24/192 and DSD in even higher resolutions (I have no experience with the latter)
  7. Sounds like you're having a good day :-)
