  1. My present installation is with Ubuntu 15.04, however this problem has been around for a few versions. My system runs on an ASUS P8Z77-v Deluxe motherboard (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V_DELUXE/overview/) containing the Realtek Realtek ALC898. My music is stored mainly in FLAC and ALAC formats ripped at 16bit/44K and I have some 24bit/96K albums. I use minimserver as my media server with BubbleUPNPServer wrapped around it. I have BubbleUPNP on my Android tablets and both an Arcam AirDAC and Pure Jonga A2 UPnP Renderers attached to my stereo. This set up allows me to stream all the 16bit albums but not any 24bit ones over wire or wireless. Both renderers are capable of handling 24bit/96K music and the music plays directly on the computer fine. I launched Windows in a VM and played the music from there to the devices and that worked fine but not practical day to day. I do not understand why I can play the music locally but not streamed to my stereo. I would appreciate any advice to help me resolve my problem.
