  1. Here is my story. I think its important that we share over storys so we can see the scale of this. I got in touch with Paul 4-5 years ago. I was interested in multiple PH7 DRs. We agreed and I paid half in advance for the 6 x PH7s. My build nr is 35-38 and 51 and 52. Got this from Paul this month but its the standard excuses. Any idea how to go forward now? Hi Firstly apologies for the tardy reply. I have been rather busy dealing with health issues of my disabled family members. Just over two months ago my partner suffered a bad reaction to a Phizer covid-19 booster vaccine that has left her with long term health issues. She is suffering from chronic joint pain all over her body and also chronic fatigue. Aside from my usual care duties running the household due to her general on-going disabilities, I currently have to attend to her physical needs as well and do everything for her, as she is now bed bound. Unfortunately the medics have been unable to help yet, as time is needed to assess the longevity of these conditions (there are others suffering similar conditions after booster vaccinations) and to find ways to alleviate the problems. Hopefully this will not be a longer term problem and a cure becomes available, as providing the additional care does require a fair amount of additional time from me. Regarding your request, I have received a number of e-mails requesting me to short circuit the custom build schedule by giving priority to their orders over other customer’s orders. Whilst considering these requests over the Christmas/New Year holiday period, in essence, in ordering a custom build a customer has purchased not only the power supply product but also the place in the queue allotted to the build. I think that other customers in the queue would take a dim view of queue jumping so I would have to say that I must comply with the custom build schedule queue. When customers have decided they do not want to continue in the queue for whatever reason I have always allowed them to sell on their order including their place in the queue as a way of ensuring that they get a full refund, There is no direct refund policy in my ordering terms for custom build orders as this would leave me with considerable potentially unrecoverable outlay and as a small business I could not afford such losses. As many customers do not have enough technical knowledge to offer prospective customers looking to take over an order, I usually help by providing that knowledge and also keep a list of orders awaiting transfer as a courtesy. If you want to have your orders placed on the transfer list I will be happy to oblige. Out of interest I have been rather busy over the last few months re-furbishing a home workshop facility to continue with the legacy custom build orders in between my family care duties. The last 8 months have been very difficult as much of my available time was used to provide all the information required by the insolvency practitioners, asset valuation professional and liquidators handling the closure of PHD Ltd. Without the machining facilities to work on custom build chassis at home, I decided to take on a unit at the Lochboisdale Pier Development where PHD Ltd was located, which was to be funded by a consultancy commission, so I could continue to process the custom build schedule. Indeed, I actually paid the first months rent for October in advance and started to transfer all the custom build stock back to Lochboisdale. Unfortunately the consultancy project was placed on hold until less turbulent times return and without the cash flow this would have provided, necessary to support continuing at the new premises, I had to relinquish the new workshop. I then had to return all the custom build stock back home. Shortly after this the landlord of the old PHD Ltd premises also requested the removal of all the PHD Ltd equipment etc from the old PHD Ltd premises so I had to dismantle everything and find storage for a transit van full of boxes and equipment. With a house full of boxes and equipment I was back in the situation where there was no room for general work and machining and handling of the custom build product chassis so I decided to bite the bullet and strip out one of the rooms I had been using for an office and small work area (only suitable for module assembly) and refurbish this to provide more work area which I have done successfully, as, instead of a 2 foot by 18 inch workspace I now have a 5 foot by 18 inch workspace which now allows work on chassis safely without damaging them or indeed myself, and also a small machining area that is sufficient for custom chassis machining. I am currently in the process of sorting out boxes full of custom build stock and finding an accessible home for everything so I do not have to go sorting through boxes every time I need components and transformers for power supply builds. As soon as I have this completed I should be able to continue with steady progress of the custom build schedule. I cannot work miracles but I am making the effort to keep the ball rolling with the legacy custom build schedule so that customer’s outstanding orders are completed and will continue to do so to the best of my ability. I hope you can find the patience to allow me to continue and to fulfil your orders. The word on the street regarding DR7 (double regulated rail) performance is that they are well worth waiting for. Regards Paul
  2. RP Flac now with Metadata using Roon. Mellow mix and Eclectic mix works great but Main mix and Rock mix displays only "Unkonwn" using Roon.
  3. Hi auricgoldfinger and @LowMidHigh I have not seen any announcement from Mutec but as I read about the SE-120 in here and WBF, I sent a mail to Mutec and was able to reserve one of the oscillators they had incoming. Very happy for this as I understand there is a very small numbers available right now.
  4. Hi Mark S I am using a "half stack" - a Vivaldi dac and clock with a Mutec REF10 with Habst BNC. First I was very happy when upgrading my Vivaldi dac with the Vivaldi clock. But it was when adding a REF10 it got really interesting. As I recall I thought the REF10 upgrade was much better than first adding the Vivaldi clock on its own. When Habst BNC cables where used compared to generic BNC it added a sense of focus, calmnes and better dynamics which connects me closer to the music. Next step for me in january will be to upgrade my REF10 to REF10 SE-120 with -120 dBc/Hz😃. Happy holidays!
  5. Hi I had the Berkeley Ref v1 followed by the Rossini and now the Vivaldi Dac and clock. The upgrade was easy to hear from Berkely / Rossini and to the Vivaldi Dac. I also use the Vivaldi clock with a Mutec Ref10 with 0.5 m Habst 75 ohm BNC to clock my digital chain. I had the Mutec Ref 10 from earlier and connecting the Vivaldi Clock with generic bnc cables / Canare 12G was great but after connecting the Habst the sq is really amazing! I have clocked my Mac mini with a 4 tab sCLK-EX and a RedNet 16R with 2 tab sCLK-EX . All connected to the Ref10. This is a major advantage I think, to be able to sync all components to a reference clock. I also use the Galileo LE but have the SX incoming. Looking forward to hear what the new cables from S. R will bring?

  7. Hi I jumped on the Habst CA group buy this summer and here is my short report after about 2 weeks of listening. First listening: 2 weeks ago. Connected Habst BNC 75 ohm, 2 brand new cables in my system.. The cables were connected to the Clock Outputs (44.1 and 48 khz) from my Vivaldi Master Clock to Vivaldi Dac. Steaming from Tidal. In the system before Habst: 2 x Canare 12G SDI-4K cable 3 feet Fist impresions after about 30 min. Clean, airy. Velvet midrange, very detailed maybe less body in midrange than before - this could be an abscence of coloration, I think. Tight, dynamic, deep bass. Detalis in the background never heard before. Image and instruments between speakers are laser stable. Very “black” background. And all this with just cables from clock to dac. Very impressive. I felt this was a major upgrade allready! After 50 hours burn in: Now 3 Habst BNC scables in my system: 2 from dCS Vivaldi Clock to Vivaldi Dac 1 from Ref10 to MC3+ USB The sound is really, really good now! Black background. Lots of details but never in a bad way, sounds very musical. The music has a rhytm and drive with deep soundstage. It is very easy to let the music engage you in a way that never before. So far: The conclusion so far is that the Habst cables let the Ref10 really shine. For me it has been a big upgrade. I expect the next mind blowing level will be when I change the generic clock cables for the Ref input on the Vivaldi clock and to my 2 x sCLK cards from SOtM feeding the RedNet 16 R+switch and my clocked (4 tabs) Mac mini. Exciting times ahead! Tommy
  8. Hi Frans Can you give any tips in how to get the iRC working please? I tried the Sonic Studios solution 3-4 times with a no luck from a clear slate. All programs are also up to date. I use a Mac mini 2012 booting from a SD card. All iRC meassure are from iRC 1.2.4 and so are the generated filters. http://www.sonicstudio.com/amarra/support#faq
  9. Hi auricgoldfinger That is interesting. I have orderd a few Habst digital 75 ohm BNC from the CA group buy and I also have the S.R Active Ground Block. As the A. G.B has 44 ports / connetion points. It would be much better using them insetead of using up the 8 outputs on my Ref10. Did Synergistic Research terminate your HD cables with 75 ohm female or do you use an adapter between? Have you had the chance too compare grounding to the A.G.B with the standard grounding of the Habst to chassis? Tommy
  10. Listening to 4.2.401 and it sounds good. No hangup when I quit A4L now but I still hear a shift to the right speaker when I turn iRC on. I downloaded iRC Measure Installer 1.2.4 last time and made the filters. Maybe I have to do a new round of measuring....?
  11. When will the iRC be fixed? I am using: IRC version 1.2.4 Amarra 4 Lux version 4.1.364 Just finished a new meassurement with iRC - but the sound is still shifting to the right and totaly flat, no 3d. I even generated a filter below 168 hz, but no. Something is fundamentaly wrong with the iRC implementation. Some have reported that you use iRC and that it works fine. What versions of iRC and A4L do you use? And everytime I close A4L I have to use forced shutdown. Why is that? Back to Symponhy again I guess.
  12. Nice review MItch751. My Ref10 should arrive next week. Looking forward to it,
  13. Hi Have you checked out Gik? I just ordered a package from them myself. http://gikacoustics.co.uk
  14. "This new version will be a free upgrade for users of the current version." The same for Amarra iRC customers?
  15. Christmas came early. Just ordered a Ref10 to my Mutec and Rednet. Has anyone used Ghents 75ohm clock cable? They offer a 0,5 m to 15 usd on their homepage. Tommy
