1. So far every Accustic Arts TUBE DAC version has a tube-hybrid output-stage (RCA and XLR). It should be burned in and stay some days on power before serious listening can happen. As user of every version up to present version including an excellent asynchronous usb input... i can only guess that something went very wrong here... Anyway regarding top analogue playback the topic starter is correct. Agree in that point... Here link to present version with complete specs: Accustic Arts®
 2. Would like to add following, IMHO outstanding DAC: ACCUSTIC ARTS TUBE-DAC II now capable to play 24/192. http://www.accusticarts.de/pages/en_tube-dac_ii.html Walter
 3. Hi, Thanks for your impressions! Did you compare the little Proton with some known DAC? How it sounds, its character? Best, Walter
 4. Dear Chris & flatmap, Thanks for your information. In Europe I do not have possibility to audition Wavelength dac's. So I need info from users as I do not want to add a headphone-preamp during travelling. Since the introduction of K500 model from AKG I like these models on my head for long sessions. So I would take it with me... And it is an Austrian product! Thanks for your profund help. Best, Walter
 5. Hi, Any suggestions which headphones suits best for Proton? I am considering AKG's K701/702 or maybe Grado's SR325i model. As I read here AKG works fine. Did anybody compare the headphones output with an external special hp-amp? As I like to travel much the Proton seems to be the best solution on market. Best, Walter
 6. Hello,

This is my first post here

I am very interested in this little wonder. Maybe anybody can tell us somerthing about the headphone-amp quality?

Would be curious about using it with AKG K-701/702 or Grado SR325i.

Best, Walter
