1. Just a quick question. Why in the world would you pick an old vinyl record for the logo of a "Computer Audiophile" web site? This is quite strange. I think that, this site getting more popular, and attracting more readers, you should think about getting a new logo drawn by a professional designer. Pat
 2. Hi everyone, Has anyone tried the Genelec 6010A in their computer rigs? http://www.genelec.com/firststep/ At first glance, it looks like a very well designed product, considering Genelec quality and reputation. Any reviews? Thanks Pat ====================== Edit. I contacted the distributor in Montréal, SFM marketing, and according to the rep., these little gems sell for 330$ Can. EACH. I wonder how they sound. To be continued...
 3. This is a very informative post. I found it while googling for "audiophile music servers".

According to a friend of mine, after discussing about different offerings on the marking (including the Olive products and others and the Slim Device Transport), it seems that what all you need is a computer at the source to organise your music (ripping, playlists, etc), and a very good DAC connected to you computer to feed your preamp.

In other words, what Chris is suggesting in this very post. The question is now: which components?

My opinion is that the computer must be totally silent. I would opt for something like the Hush Technologies (http://www.hushtechnologies.com/) products or something similar. That is, silent, well build, including a 1TB HDD. But now, not with Vista installed (this operating system sucks, let's face it). Instead, I would go for the Linux Ubuntu OS.

For the DAC, it seems that the PS audio Digital link III is an excellent perfomer.

Good luck in your quest for good music from computers. The possibilities are endless given all the products on the market.
