  1. On my Femto the external USB-HDD sounded not as good as WiFi from the NAS. On my Mini i have a internal SSD and tried Wifi as well with no differences in terms of sound quality. It's the 5V power that is needed by the external usb-drive that decreases the sound quality.
  2. My strategy is... I have a folder with the bands name, like "Pink Floyd". Then a folder with the album name and the release date in front "1979 - The Wall" (you dont need the release date here because it will be in the tag, but adding a release date to the folder makes it easier when browsing in your players folder view). The file is named "01 - In The Flesh.flac" Important Tag Fields are... Artist - Title - Album - Track(Number) - Year/Release - Genre - Comment In the "Comments" i sometimes add the Files Resolution and Bitrate when i have the same album in different versions. You can't go wrong with this and its pretty much the same way "HDTracks" Files are tagged. Clean and simple. MP3Tag is all you need, it converts file names, adds covers ect.
  3. I just installed the update. Everything still running with my DS214se. The Patchlog says "Fixed a vulnerability that could allow unauthorized access to the shared folders via SMB protocol". Maybe you need to adjust the rights for the shared folder. Also it is important to shut down the sms100 manually when having a ext. drive attached.
  4. Hey Jesus... I have also a few questions about the Drive-Mounter. I use the SMS100's Ethernet Input from the NAS and the first of the three USB-Ports as Output to the DAC. When using a external HDD, does it matter which of the USB Ports i use as input? Is there a way to fill the HDD with Music (over Ethernet) while attached, or do i have to unplug the Ethernet? Thanks, Tom.
