  1. I own a few devialet systems. My favourite being the d1000. I find that after testing a variety of amps with my sonus faber amati anniversary. The d1000 with SAM matching sounds great for the price. It has strong bass control like the very heavy older Krell amps but much more refined. I agree with another member that it has a beautiful remote. Really a pleasure to use. Devialet amps are also very light so moving them around is not so hard on the back. It is just a marvel on how they could get such great sound out of a compact piece. It runs fairly cool. If you touch it after a night of playing, it will feel pretty warm but not enough to heat up the room like other amps. I have tried substituting phono's and dac's and running into the line input to compare with devialet. The devialet has very good ones incorporated. I did keep listening to an audionote tube phono for awhile but eventually went back to devialets phono. It is faster and clearer. Audionote makes great equipement but the devialet is fine. Is it the best amp out there? Probably not. But it does sound very nice and gives a lot for the money. My second favourite system is the d-premier with klipsch cornwall3. The speakers are 104db efficiency , could run with a 2 watt tube amp. The d-premier shines through on these speakers taking them to new heights. Third system is d220 with sonus faber cremona floor standing. Very nice sound, very clean with nice midrange and great highs, bass is good but not like the previous ones. Devialet is also dead dead quiet. No other amp is this quiet. Completely black background. You hear more into the music. I have been an audiophile for over twenty years. I have enjoyed OTL tube amps, Push Pull tube amps, Single Ended 300b and 45 tube amps, SS Class A and SS Class AB. Devialet is a great all a-rounder that is reliable, practical, compact, lightweight, and has audiophile level sound. Hard to match.
