  1. Thank you all for the amazing information reported in this topic! I was able to rip all my SACDs with a Sony BDP-S4100 without a single issue. I bought the player (€50 on ebay, used) on purpose, I enabled the quick start option in the menu, and inserted a USB memory with the files described in MikeyFresh's post above. The tray opens on start-up, but there is no other sign that the script is working. Once I inserted the disc, I switched the player off to unmount the disc and then I proceeded to connect to the player with iso2dsd and start the ripping process. I was amazed that everything worked at the first try: it is telling of how much effort you guys have put in perfecting this method and making this information available to everyone.
  2. I can't play DSD256 files with Daphile, I get absolutely no sound. DSD128 files don't play well too (lots of gaps and stutters), but maybe that's because my cpu isn't powerful enough? I'm using Daphile on an Intel Atom motherboard. DSD64 files play fine. goerz
  3. I have a NAS and a self-built dedicated music server running Daphile. The server is connected to my DAC through a Gustard U12 USB-SPDIF interface. All my CDs are ripped with EAC in flac format.
  4. In my experience, ripped CDs sound better than their physical counterparts, when they are both played through the same DAC. The difference isn't dramatic (at least in my case), but it's there.
  5. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I started using voyage mpd in 2011 running on an Atom D525 headless computer with no fans or moving parts connected to an Onix 25A DAC. I replaced voyage mpd with Daphile about a month ago and I'm really impressed by its quality and ease of use. All my music files reside on a self-built NAS in another room (I don't want fans or hard disks in my listening room). The speakers are Audes 146 and the amplifier is an hybrid A-120 Opera Consonance. Regards, goerz
