  1. Not sure where to post this but just received Youtube recommendation (ETA Prime) that new Raspberry Pi 4 is out and avaiable! Specs:- Broadcom BCM2711, Quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64 bit SoC @1.5GHz 1GB, 2GB or 4GB LPDDR4-2400 SDRAM (depending on model) 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz IEEE 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, BLE Gigabit Ethernet 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports. 40 pin GPIO (fully backward compatible with previous boards) H265 (4kp60 decode) and H264 (1080p60 decode) 2 x micro HDMI port ( up to 4kp60 supported) OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics Micro-SD card for OS and storage
  2. I like this concept very much. Do you think wifi extender is better than internal wifi card to move RF device away from computer?
  3. Thank you for the info, as Iving pointed out I need to read from 500 page onward to find out the info. I also wonder have any audiophile companies thought of producing one i2s pcie AIC card? Or could the JCAT femto usb card be further upgraded to output direct i2s? Would this solve and avoid the need to come out an audiophile mobo?
  4. Do I read it correctly that M.2 version of Optane will go through PCH and performs poorer than AIC NVMe PCIe version of Optane?
  5. I think if the wire comes out from the special port and goes into the normal fmc before going into OR will bring down the performance. It is because fmc is using cheap components and cheap clock. You should consider the clean side is coming out from the optical port of EtherRegen and going into OR to see the difference.
  6. Not sure I should post it here but I hope there is an enhancement at Euphony to be able to assign cache and the size to Optane or Ram for read in data either from USB or Ethernet. Also likewise an output cache to USB output (not sure it is necessary to do so). This like what Austinpop has pointed out. Thank you Bobfa for looking into this for ours benefit. Then may be audiophile net card or USB card won't play big role in sound quality and we can just use Startech pcie cards with good PS.
  7. Thank you to all of you for the music storage info. I think the index should have separate section for music file storage. My case is I use this USB to sata adapter to connect to Samsung evo 850 ssd: https://www.newegg.com/startech-usb312sat3-usb-to-sata/p/N82E16812400832 The ssd is partitioned to one partition for Daphile player and another one partition for music files. I have created an USB cheater plug to supply 5v power to the adapter for the ssd and finally the USB adapter with the cheater plug is connected to the input of Startech 4-port usb 3.1 to pcie card. Generally I am OK with the sound that I get. I am still in a stage of making sense about these AL and Euphony approach and I am glad to learn from you guys. In side note, the USB music also output from another independent port of this Startech 4-port USB to pcie card to USB dac. I supply external good smps to this pcie card.
  8. Another thing is for single PC setup running Euphony Stylus, if os should be run in Optane card then where should music files be stored in optimized way? Is it ssd or hdd? What is the type. I tried to skim through the index but cannot find the info.
  9. I wonder for the Asrock H370M-ITX/ac mobo, is it doable to find a splitter to split up the pcie slot to 2 pcie slots to use with jcat femto net card and also jcat USB femto card? Or is it such thing to convert the M.2 key E wifi connector to additional pcie slot to use with USB card?
  10. Previously I read about another guy here recommended a mini PC running i7-8550U which is capable for headless AL. So I searched along the net and came across this mini PC called Partaker B18 which running i7-8750H 6 cores 12 threads CPU and has 2 NVMe slots. So I wonder could this PC suited very well to run Optane ssd for Euphony and at the same time can do upsampling to dsd256?
  11. The essence of this is how to independently power the cpu? Could someone provide details guide? Could I also independently power cpu at intel NUC ? Thank you.
  12. Is 3.5" drive a desktop hdd and also spinning type? Is it not more noisy than a ssd drive?
  13. Where do you store the music library? Is it external usb hdd connected to the i7 NUC? What type of hdd and is it powered from external PS and not from usb bus?
