  1. So confuse about this setting !!! Can anyone advise me how to set this for best sound quality? use with Asus Xonar Essence STX Option > Output setting > ...choose ASIO? or my soundcard ASIO is better? Device=? Thread Priority=? Buffer Size=? Shift Output Channel=? Gapless =? Convert 1channel=? Use Direct Input Monitor=? Resampling=enable? Thread Priority =? sample rate =? quality=? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi, I've downloaded and installed ASIO [out_asio(dll).dll] and use with Media Monkey and it works fine, but I confuses about 1) I also saw (Asus Xonar Essence STX) ASIO in the driver list, does it mean that my sound card is compatible with ASIO driver? Which one should I choose then (ASIO or Asus Essence ASIO) 2) I don't know how to setup in [ASIO Output Setting] page to maximize my quality sound, anyone can guide me on this? 3) How can I know what sampling rate I'm currently playing? because what I see in the playlist is 44.1? Can I force this to play 24/92 or better as a source file? Please teach me on this Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks all for these great advices......I might start with DacMagic first and let's see how it goes with USB computer, then I should know where to start then. Besides, any DacMagic users here?? I think it's worth every $$$ for beginner, don't you guys think?
  4. Thanks for all your comments. I've read an article about USB-->S/PDIF converter outboard and it's very interesting. So I can narrow my choices as 1. simply connect USB from computer to USB dac 2. For better performance, buy additional internal sound card with s/pdif output and connect to s/pdif input on DAC 3. For another better performance, look for an USB-COAX converter and connect coax input to DAC Now I don't know which one should really rings a bell between 2 or 3, If use DacMagic thanks
  5. I'm in the middle of choosing between a) CA Dacmagic or b) Benchmark DAC1 / DAC1 USB, and connect to my Pre/pro. I'm using CD C.E.C 3300R and planning to keep using it as well as making a new music server with my current computer. My computer doesn't has a spdif output, only usb ...so, 1) I understand that connecting via spdif is much better than usb (which has a limitation of only 44hz) am I right? 2) Believing both Dacmagic and DAC1 will have choices of 2 spdif input, so for my computer, do I have to buy extra cheap internal soundcard with spdif output in order to connect to external DACs?? thanks
  6. USB cable, did you mean I just simply connects one to computer and another one to external DACs?....that's it? 1. How can the program recognize the external DACs? 2. Is it true that connect via USB can only play max of 44hz? what if I want to move to 192hz 3. what if, I buy internal sound card which has Coax output to external DACs, do you think this one will more workable?
  7. I agreed......there should be something particularly special about this Dacmagic , awarded 5 stars What Hi-Fi, in terms of price and performance. So now if I decided to go for external quality DACs, I just kick off for usb sound card????? not internal sound card?? start to confuse
  8. I love to go higher resolution sound like (192khx) is this a max it can up to? ok then now I know that I don't have to buy sound card if I decide to go for external DACS. So do I need something instead? like USB what, USB sound card?......now I"m using sound on board. so how to connect then??? Recommend me some good brand ???? what did you use ??
  9. Interesting in buying internal sound card for my PC and external dac for my system and quite confuse, 1. I'm fairly looking for ASUS STX internal sound card, which is not to costly and has a good reviewed. Is it necessary for me to have extra external DAC to connect to my AVR or PrePro? or ASUS itself did a fine job? ((I'm planning to connect via Coax to my Pre/Pro or extra external DACs)) 2. Which external DAC would be recommended? Does CA DacMagic really done a good job out there? any other brand recommended? thx
