  1. That's actually some fascinating info. Thanks!
  2. Good point, but that would be a transient event that could be corrected by replacing the panels and the equipment. Unlike the ongoing deterioration of sound quality that I would experience in the interims. Anyway, thanks for all the great feedback. I'm going to look into this dark matter issue, wasn't aware of that. As for radon, there are contractors in the area who say they can mitigate that with some exhaust fans in the crawl space. Maybe I will also get rid of all our granite countertops, too. I did not know there were already neutrino shielded USB cables. Where can I get some of those? Will also look into the bozon heavy water for my plastic cosmic ray panels. Thanks again to everyone!
  3. But if I don't do something about it I will always know the possibility is there that it is affecting sound quality and I won't be able to enjoy music without worrying about it!
  4. Greetings. New here, have a couple of questions. I'm building a Farraday cage around my hifi system to protect it from stray electrostatic and electromagnetic interference. I'm also planning to line it with some hollow plastic panels filled with water to absorb cosmic rays that can disrupt electronic circuits and alter digital signals and data stored on hard disks. (Does anyone know if such panels are already commercially available?) From some initial makeshift testing I can tell a huge difference in sound quality. Anyway, I'm concerned about neutrinos. It is my understanding that neutrinos can pass through just about anything including the Earth, and collision with subatomic particles can give off stray electrons that could interfere with the digital signal which could also affect sound quality. I'm wondering how one goes about making a shield to protect from this? Thanks in advance.
