  1. Does anyone know when audioquest will come out with the dragonfly red MQA firmware update? It's frustrating that with everyone talking about it I can't find either the firmware updater link (per the DF manual) or any language about MQA update on the website. I have an Explorer2 and want to compare as well as listen to my Tidal MQA albums decoded from iPhone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Thank you. That worked...blue light and two white lights.....and great sound! But, one small issue....no volume control when using headphones. Appreciate it and hope this helps others too.
  3. So finally we have MQA in Tidal (desktop app....which I use). Great, so I plug my Meridian Explorer 2 into macbook pro usb, choose it as output and voila...get blue light playing one of the master quality albums. Then I mess around with the to see if can hear a difference between normal stream quality and master. Come back to master and I can't get the blue light to turn on again (though two white lights are on). What am I missing or messed up in the settings? It all sounds great (for example Speak and Spell from Depeche Mode which is way better than the HiFi version if you just do a simple search through their albums), but my question is, using the ME2 do I need to see the light or is the decoding in Tidal already doing all that's needed and am I getting the maximum benefit of MQA to my headphones? Separately, for my main rig, if I use USB output from Macbook to my McIntosh C47 will that be full decoded MQA?
  4. Great to see this Chris. I had the privilege to see CC in a private concert a couple of weekends ago in Sonoma (300 or so people at Mr. Coppola's old wine estate). He played only his [miked] acoustic guitar. I was concerned about his voice having heard Black Hole Sun on Howard Stern a couple years ago and he had trouble with the high notes. Well, here to report that the troubles are all gone. Mr. Cornell gave an awesome performance, sang many Sound Garden songs and did all the referenced covers as well as U2's One and my favorite Imagine by John Lennon. I live in the Twin Cities and last night saw Brandon Flowers (front man for Killers) whose voice is also amazing. Well, leaving the venue noticed at another club that Chris Cornell is playing on October 5th. Needless to say, I'll be there - CC is a must see show for anyone that appreciates a terrific musician and performer. Even if you aren't into his past lives bands you will truly enjoy his acoustic set, and he's a genuine and humble person that puts on zero pretenses and just wants you to enjoy the music.
