  1. The summary you show here, where do you find that? when I "get info" on the track my screen doesn't look like yours.
  2. Just keep searching, audiogon, audiomart ebay etc they all have McIntosh gear, just know what you want and keep looking you will find it eventually. Just remember the Autotransformer amps are really heavy so the shipping costs can be high, the 2500 for example is around 200 pounds.
  3. So if I have a song ripped to MP3 then imported to ITunes later I would expect the 256 AAC files would be an improvement
  4. The other speakers I enjoyed over and above the IMF's were the B&W 808's they could have easily handled the output of the McIntosh 2500.
  5. I deleted all the files then when I tried to listen to them streaming from the cloud they were distorted I downloaded one and it was distorted, it's only with this album, not sure what the issue is I guess I will just rip this cd into my laptop and won't rely on the cloud for it. The other thing I noticed the cd's I ripped with Apple lossless file sizes are about 28mb but if I click on the cloud to download after that the file size changes to about 8mb, this seems strange, I guess the file is being replaced?
  6. I have the MA6500 now and before that the 2500 power amp and C33 preamp, I love the McIntosh sound, specs aside the only way to really tell is to go and listen, I just find the sound is always smooth and clean never harsh and still retains all the detail, the output auto transformers ensure you will never transmit any DC current to your speakers, McIntosh just works year after year and when you go to sell it they hold their value.
  7. I have 2 sets of IMF's a pair of TLS 80's and a pair of TLS80 series II they are stacked driven by a McIntosh amp, I bought these in the 70's and love the sound although my daughter had a party and seems to have destroyed one of them 3 out of 4 speakers open circuit and the crossover board melted and burned in one of the TLS80's, just in the process of collecting parts to get it working again. I guess the McIntosh 2500 has a bit too much power for these as they are rated for 80 - 100 watts and this amp puts out 500 per side, I was always carefully about not over driving the speakers but when I wasn't home !!!
  8. The best of cold Chisel it seems it's the only one I had problems with so far
  9. That sounds very encouraging I recently purchased the McIntosh MCD 500 SACD player and only have one SACD so far (dark side of the moon) but since I don't have anything to compare it to I'm not sure how much SACD has improved the sound I have some more discs ordered and will see if I notice much difference although I know my ears are not what they used to be, it may be that I just can't hear the finer details anymore.
  10. everything else sounds fine so far, I downloaded another song and it was ok but it was about a7mb file size where as the ones that are distorted are about 18 mb or so. This was a Cold Chisel CD I recently bought it sounds great in the CD player and on my IMAC and when I played it streaming from the cloud on my laptop it was fine only after downloading on the MacBook pro it is severely distorted you can hardly make out it's a song this is all the songs on the album.
  11. I have a problem, I ripped a new cd to I tunes on my apple desktop, it showed up on my Macbook pro laptop in Icloud when I played it streaming it sounded fine but when I clicked on the cloud and downloaded the songs on the album to my laptop they sound completely distorted it's hard to make out the song at all. I am overseas at the moment so can't get to my desktop to see if there is a problem with the song there, it sounded fine when I checked the file after ripping it from the cd, I chose apple lossless as the output when I ripped the cd. I just started using ITunes Match, so a little unsure of how it all works.
  12. So if I have an MP3 MPEG file in my library will I tunes match it with a better quality one and give me the option to download it?
  13. I read quite a bit of that about the PS3 going back to 2011 and it seems a worthwhile way to store the hi quality sound from SACD's hence the interest in the D150 and it's ability to play the DSD files via USB from the mac mini
