  1. Well, kind of... if you press play with an empty queue it'll build a random playlist from your library with 999 tracks.
  2. A comment on SQ. I've been using local usb hdd, router hdd and nas in my setup. I used to hear different SQ on these different configurations but since the introduction of memory play I can't really hear any difference at all.
  3. I'm using the new Linksys WRT1900ACS. It's a slightly updated WRT1900AC, faster processor. Very stable in my environment much more so than my old ASUS. Both versions can use other firmware than Linksys own if you like. However, I have never tried EA6900/7500. Connection to Aries is wireless 5GHz, never tried wired.
  4. Currently using a 3TB Seagate hdd connected to my Linksys AC1900S... it seems to work great actually. Very straightforward to configure LDS to use it. I didn't need to turn on any media server functionality.
  5. A bit reluctant to ask this since it's so crazy, well ... I recently changed my Asus router ta a Linksys Wrt1900acs and immediately thought that the sound got brighter. Tried to revert to the Asus again today, and yes it's not as bright. How is this even possible? My Aries is connected wirelessly, latest firmware and nothing else is changed in the environment...??? The system is used mainly for Tidal streaming, Aries is connected via USB to a Primare amp (also on wireless) to SF Olympica 3 speakers. Anyone?
  6. As I mentioned earlier, you might not be alone having similar problems. One of the ideas about having a forum in the first place is to share opinions, problems, ideas and experiences. All input is valid and even if someone is currently having a unique problem it maybe a different case tomorrow. Please keep on posting!
  7. That's interesting, I've also been hearing anomalies or distortion lately. I'm also using an Aries in my streaming/digital system and I was really worried that there was a problem with my SF Olympica 3 speakers... however, this could be it. Haven't tried other sources yet, will move my cd player from my analog system and give it a go.
  8. Tidal is cached (using "memory play") since Aries can "pull" the file before playing, however e.g Roon is streamed directly... hence not cached.
  9. Johan, The sharp sound could be that you need to break it in for a while. I have the "big" Aries, not the Mini, but mine sounded sharp, flat and bright for at least 2 weeks before settling to its current smooth state. I also experience a brightness after every firmware update, takes about 3 days to get back to normal... wierd but a fact! ? Started to check all connections and was almost about to start moving my speakers around after my first couple of fw updates, before made aware of that this actually happens at every update... at least in my environment.
  10. Oh, I have another iPad that I didn't upgrade. Other ways could be to use your iTunes backup (if you have one) or maybe nicely ask Auralic to send you a special ipa. I think they perhaps might do that if you have big problems that aren't solved otherwise.
  11. The stability problems introduced with v2.0 is rectified only by rollback to the stable v 1.8 in my case... I'll stick with that until there is a new and stable version available.
  12. I've had a similar problem off and on... Check if "Lightning Device" is checked or unchecked in the settings menu when this happens. In my case it gets unchecked and I need to do a fulll power cycle to get out of that state. This is only related to LDS 2.0.1... everything works fine with 1.8. And no, I haven't got network problems.
