That's why I ended up going with the Aries.

I recently set up a Synology 214+ NAS to work with my Aries. I had no prior experience setting up a network and it was fairly easy to do. The complicating factor was a 4TB drive that was DOA that I had to sort out but otherwise relatively straightforward. The are a lot of YouTube videos to guide you. Once it is set up it is easy to maintain and run.

I have a Lampizator 4 with Auralic Aries they work great together.

Bobk- I have a Lampizator L4 G4 and it plays PCM and DSD via USB. If you go into Output Channel for your Aries settings have you selected Combo384 Amanero? does it show up as a selection. If not you might want to try shutting down the Lampizator and Aries and restarting both. When I loaded firmware 2.2 it would not play through USB. I tried restarting the Aries a few times to no avail but then turned off the Lampizator somewhere along the way and restarting and the Amanero driver showed up and it worked. I don't remember the order I used and whether the USB cable was plugged in but somehow it worked. Hopefully you can get yours working too. Howard

I went to Tidal website (US) and they list HIFI at $19.99 and a standard service at $9.99 per month. I couldn't find a reference to the higher price.

Bluegrass banjo since high school. Had a band in college and busked in Europe one summer. Since then I play off and on by myself and with others on occasion. Just got a Martin HD28 and last year and taking lessons now. I'm a lot better on banjo but enjoy playing guitar. Also my 11 year-old son is a very talented violinist and a bribe him into learning bluegrass fiddle tunes so that I can play guitar and banjo with him. He had his first bar gig recently sitting in with a band.

TIDAL working for me now

TIDAL has always worked flawlessly for me on the Aries, so I was very surprised when I had problems last night. I thought it was a problem with my system and contacted Auralic. They replied within a few hours and indicated that the problem was at the TIDAL end and then followed up saying that they and TIDAL were working to resolve the issue.

I had same problem last night. TIDAL shows up as normal on Lightning DS but tracks won't play. Apparently this was a problem at TIDAL end that Auralic and Aries are working to resolve. Also there is a notice to this effect on the Auralic Facebook page.
