  1. I am sorry if this has been answered before, but how do I get this script to work? I double-click and the script ask for my password. It is not possible to write anything though, and cut/paste doesn't work either.
  2. Of course! Did not think of that. Thanks Barry! Best regards Stian
  3. I know there should be a RIAA eq preset in MIO software, but I just cannot find it. Digital riaa works wonderfully, my turntable sounds better run balanced through the uln 8 with pure vinyl software than my tube phonostage. I would like to try MH´s alternative though. Best regards Stian
  4. At first I also missed "liveliness" when I tried the ULN-8. My Buffalo (first version with sabre 9008 chip) with 6F8G tube output buffer has a very "live" and vibrant sound. Now I have adjusted to the sound of the ULN, and would never think about going back. It is so clean and resolved that the other dac sounds almost vulgar. It is now also much easier to hear differences between different player software, and with the right software the dynamics is sensational (if the recording has any real dynamics of course). The old cliche about new details in familiar recordings also come to mind when listening to the ULN. It is also very good for vinyl replay. I use pure vinyl, but would like to use the built in riaa eq, but can not find it in the mio console anywhere. Can anyone help me out here? (i have checked all the eq presets and the mio strip). Stian
  5. Unibrain has long firewire cables. I use a 10m and have not encountered any problems. http://www.unibrain.com/Products/p1394/cables_a.htm Best regards Stian
  6. Hi Telstar, A bit early yet, as I have not had as much time listening as I would like lately. The first impression of the ULN8 was of ease and a total lack of grain. Very natural and detailed bass. The FF/buffalo (with 6F8G/6SN7 tube output stage, LDR based volume control) seems to have a more "vivid" sound and a greater perceived dynamic range and bigger soundstage. The ULN is in comparison a bit "polite". I have not yet played with the output gain jumpers on the ULN, but will get to that this weekend. Best regards Stian
  7. Hi Arthur, Thanks for the link. I am aware of VNC based "remotes" and usually use a macbook to control the music server. Still hope that MH will implement IR control of the ULN8 since I use my iphone as itunes remote and would prefer not to shut down that app everytime I change volume. Best regards Stian
  8. Hi all My first post after a long period of lurking. I got a ULN-8 last week to replace my FF400/Buffalo dac. @ Barry......I tried the apple remote today, but nothing happens. Should it work straight away, or are there things to do in the MIO software? Best regards Stian
