  1. So ive heard the Mytek, a modded benchmark dac1 and a Weiss202($$$$) And..... the modded benchmark sounded better than the mytek, The mytek has this wierd clipped highs, i think they cut anything after 14khz or 16khz? (my ears arn't so accurate) and it sounds wierd because there is no rolloff/timbre. The Weiss202 is THE DAC i want it seems... Oh i also heard a Linnenberg dac, and gawd, it was SLOWW! The lower octaves were all shaky n wobbly but i guess its considered "musical"
  2. Hi guys, thanks for all the suggestions, I just heard the benchmark dac2 today and the dac1 with the same system, and wow what a difference, but i felt like all the dynamics, impact, richness is a little forced.
  3. Hi Guys, Im thinking of upgrading from my Benchmark DAC1 with a Halide Design bridge (USB) to something else around the under $1000 price range. I hear DAC's have improved leaps and bounds since my purchase in 2010. Im looking for an improvement in the dynamicness of music i guess, I find the Benchmark pretty flat, but very detailed, but lacking emotion. Im running the benchmark to Active speakers - Quested Monitors SR6 though XLR cables. DAC has to have USB (i run it from my windows desktop all the time and pretty much use it 24/7 for movies and everything else) XLR output Headphone output isn't important, Any Suggestions?
