  1. I am curious to know if some of you are still using the G5 and if any further tweaks or improvements have been discovered. I use a Macbook Pro and have considered trying a G5 and seeing how far it can be taken with tweaks and modifications. It would be great if Jay, Clay, and any others could chime in with any updates or newer information. Thanks, Nick
  2. I was wondering what the results were using the EMU 0404 and if it was successful. Can the EMU be an effective method of getting 24/96 files out of a mac to a high quality dac? Anyone else using the EMU 0404 with a mac?
  3. Mr. Nugent, I thought I read somewhere online that the EMU 0404 would only work up to 48hz on Mac computers. Will it work with files up to 24/96 on a Mac? Will it pass 24/96 via coax digital out doing the same function as the Bel Canto USB link? Thanks for contributing on this great forum. -Nick

Hello, I read through this entire thread and I am very happy to be researching this information and learning more about the other software that is available. I downloaded the Soundblade Demo but have not had any luck getting it to work. Could someone share what the midi settings should be on a macbook pro? I use usb out from my laptop to my usb dac. When I tried to use Soundblade I had a clicking/popping distortion through my speakers. I could not figure out if it is an incorrect midi setting or if I missed something. I am really interested in hearing this software. I have to say I am shocked by Wave Editor. I believe it is a substantial improvement over iTunes. This is only based on one listening session but it lasted about an hour and I heard many tracks I am familiar with. If Soundblade offers better performance I can't wait to get to hear it. I use AIFF in iTunes. My system is very revealing and I feel like I owe it to myself to discover the best software instead of chasing equipment/hardware. Thanks for this website and all the contributors. -Nick
