  1. Yes, Damien killed himself because you get audirvana free on kickass, don't you?
  2. A question that I hope someone will be so gentle to answer. Playing audirvana with the hugo through usb connection, I always get 32 bit as the bit depth that goes to the dac. BUT, when I use an usb/spdif converter that has a xmos chip as output, the bit depth stream is always coherent with the bit depth of the files. I always select DAC ONLY in the volume filter control. I want audirvana to play the files as they are, I don't want any dithering process. How can I achieve this directly with the hugo? thank you very much kind people
  3. thank you,I was trying to do that without show metadata enabled
  4. Where exactly from the bottom?I tried many times but nothing it just resize all the audirvana window
  5. I tried many times but it doesn't really show,it's gone! Is there a way to reset the player and all of its settings?
  6. I have a problem with the music window, the one where we see all the folder of the albums. My problem is that when I click on an album, the window that appear on the bottom with the tracks list does not show anymore and I have to click on play queu to see the various tracks and to play a different track from the first one on the record I just want the play queu to show in the music window Any suggestion?thank you

The Chord Hugo is linear till -140dB. So what is the recommend setting of the dac bit ? Notice that I am using a usb/spdif converter to feed the hugo that has maximux bit of 24

thank you for your replies So,what are your suggestion for the use of hqplayer with the chord hugo dac?

    HQ Player

Yes I 've been using it resampling to dsd128 for a long time.DSD is not a strong point of the hugo,it sounds better with pcm(much more energy and correct stereo presentation in the sound). As I wrote in an earlier message, comparing audirvana and hqplayer with redbook,I found hqplayer to be much more lively and exciting.Audirvana sounds much more solid but lacks heart.I am now confused after reading one of the last message of Miska in which he stated hqplayer not to be intended or optimised to play redbook files.that's all

yes I know I've been using hqplayer for months now. However from the above post by miska, he lets us understand that hqplayer is a crap without oversampling, is that true?

So, setting the resampling filter to none but leaving the dither settings enabled is not a real native stream?

Yesterday I was listening to audirvana plus just to compare it to hqplayer regarding the 44.1kHz playing, because the chord hugo has a certain magic at that rate. At first I was like: wow, this audirvana is tight!sounds tight and solid, with a controlled bass. Then I switch to hqplayer and I immediately notice much more air between the instrument, and a lively sound that get you in touch with the heart of the music. hqplayer is good even without upsampling. notice that I was listening from a tivoli model one , despite that I was able to pick up differences, and what a differences!
