I did some more experimenting and discovered that the problem is with the Windows app. Chrome has no problem streaming. But the app has problems streaming the same music. I guess whomever wrote the app may not know how to do network I/O.

For me Tidal suddenly started having massive streaming problems on friday. 10 seconds of music, 20 or more seconds of silence, 10 seconds of music, 20 or more seconds of silence, etc. Prior to friday it worked fine for me. Is there any reliable high quality streaming service?
