    Audivarna for Dummies

Thank you very much for your reply, Sander. That sounds like the way to go!
  2. I'm embarassed to be posting this, but how do I rip a CD into Audivarna? I'm using a MacMini with the Apple Optical Drive. I imported the iTunes library during the initial set-up wizard. Now, Inserting a CD (in this case, Toots Thielemans Only Trust Your Heart) iTunes takes over an imports the CD. It works fine in iTunes. How do I get Toots into Audivarna? The Manual for Audivarna 2.2 seems to indicate I have to go into preferences and Sync my iTunes library. So, all that has accomplished is to import the image for the Toots album into my existing Audivarna Diana Krall "Only Trust Your Heart", which is just a new mess to sort out. What is the easiest way for a Dummy to rip/ import a CD into Audivarna Plus 2.2.3?
  3. Dang that Dongle works! (the CompuLab fit-Headless, that is). Makes the both the Screen Sharing on the Mac and Splashtop on the Mini work better.
  4. Thanks for the note about the CompuLab fit-Headless - at $15.00, it's hard not to give it a try!
  5. Thanks for the reply. I also have a Mac system - using a "headless" MacMini, managed by an iMac by ScreenSharing. (This is fed into the DAC of an Oppo 105 and then through a transformer based passive AudioZone into a PrimaLuna Dialogue 4 with KT66 tubes into Heresy III, in case any of that matters!)
  6. I'm new to Computer Audio, and just getting ready to purchase my first dedicated software Player; e.g. Audivarna, Amarra, JRiver, PureMusic etc. At this point, I running iTunes + BitPerfect, but I've never like the way iTunes handles albums. I'm an "Album Guy". I'm mainly into Classics and Jazz, and I seldom download individual tracks, just whole albums. I seldom create playlists of songs selected from different albums. Is there a player with an album library structure that is particularly good at maintaining the integrity of my albums and will make them easy to bring up to play?
  7. Thanks very much for your patient, helpful replies!
  8. I am also a Newbie just feeling my way in this area. Still using iTunes with BitPerfect; still haven't chosen a dedicated player. But, much as I like the idea of a dedicated remote app like JRemote, I am reluctant to choose a player just on the basis of a remote app, if it means sacrificing other features I want, such as ability to synch library to iTunes, sound quality, and library organization (and probably other things I still have not idea about).
  9. Anybody using Splashtop on their iPad to control their Mini?
