  1. Good points, I may just stick with Onkyo 636.
  2. I love the functionality and future proofing of the Onkyo 636. I just don't like the fact the color scale is 4.2.2 and not 4.4.4. Whwere the other receivers I'm considering have the 4.4.4 but not the hdcp 2.2.
  3. Thanks! Functionality is definitely more important. I have been considereing the Marantz 5009. I wil look into Arcam and Rotel.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums. I'm no audiophile but I would like to set up a really nice surround sound system for both music and movies. I will probably be going with either the BIC PL-980 or Klipsch RF52 systems. I would like to keep the entire system under two thousand if possible however I don't mind going over a few hundred bucks. My biggest concern is find a receiver that will have as much future proofing as possible. I was looking into the Onkyo 636 because it can use hdcp 2.2. However I found out the coloring is only 4.2.2 and not 4.4.4. So you will not get the most out of 4k. I now have been looking for receivers that offer 4.4.4. I plan on hopefully being able to run two out-channels from any possible future player. I have an eclectic taste in music, but metal being my favorite. I have now been looking at the Pioneer SC-80, 81, and 82. As well as several of the Denon models. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
