  1. Hi maxprocrj Thanks for the reply. My config is actually a basic pc build to have low noise and low consumption. Gigabyte board, I3 530 cpu with nofan cooloer. Downclocked to 900mhz 1 gb ddr3 ram Ssd 32 gb which has the OS on it. Iam using a linux distro called Aplinux (audiophile linux) Ppa v2 pcı card My archive is in a 3.5'Hdd located outside of the case and connected via sata. I am runing 192bit or dsd files smoothly with these combo. As player ı am using mpd/Cantata. The missing link on the server is the PSU bid. I have a standard computer psu which feeds the ssd, archive 3.5'Hdd, ppa card and 12v to mainboard and cpu. I want to invest on the lineer psu but using a pico psu doesnt make me feel %100 comfortable beacuse it creates noise itself. One of the treats ı noticed a LPSU (ı think it was hdplex or teradac) going directly to the mainboards P24 and P4 sockets. See the pic below. How this can be done without using the pico psu or in another words can it be done? Should ı be worried about using pico psu really? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Hi, have one question. I am planing to upgrade my computer psu to a lineer one. If the hdplex or teradac psu is used do we still need a pico psu? Ss far as ı know pico psu is a switching psu and it doesnt fit in hifi computer equipment. Do you believe pico psu effects sound quality in a bad way? Is there a way not to use it if we ıse a LPSU? 3. Many thanks Chuck By SSD do we mean where the OS is located? What do you think about seperating the power of the external SATA or SSD disk where the archive has stored ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What about powering the ssd with a power bank like the ones used for charcing the phone batteries. It also provides 5v and with 13000 am should be sufficent for quite enough time. Does battetry have and disadvantages regarding with the sound quality? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks. But my question is how you connect this 12v to the MOB? With what kind of a cable or psu? As far as I know a pico psu is needed to power the 2 connections (P24 and P4) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Are you using pico psu in the music server to feed both P24 and P4 motherboard slots? Any chance to get a picture inside the case? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Hi everyone, I have an issue with the PPA v2 usb card which I just got and planing to use in my transport pc running with AP-Linux v3. ( AudioPhile Linux | Quality audio on Linux ) My DAC is Yulong DA8. I installed the card in the last pci slot of my motherboard - Gigabyte h55 Under the dac/soundcard list in Ap-Linux ı can find my Dac as it used to be with the mainboards usb ports. So linux recognises my Dac with PPA card. But when ı tried to play music ı cannot get any sound. I got a warning such as "no audio output" like there is no Dac connected!! Also when ı plug the usb cable to the lower port of the card linux couldnt recognise the dac but it recognises with the upper port of the usb card. My friend had sound when he used the card with windows so card is working but there is an issue with linux I guess. I really like the APLinux and want to use the card. Any idea why ı am having this problem? Should ı need to write something in linux terminal, download any drivers etc?? Has anyone in the forum use this card with linux based computers? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks
