  1. I will receive the iDefender and iPower tomorrow normally. We have 20cm of snow in Paris, so deliveries are blocked and delayed ... But with a DIY cable it works, so i'm pretty confident with the iDefender+iPower (but who knows ?)
  2. Maybe it’s this bug ? https://community.auralic.com/t/aries-g2-can-not-detect-my-dac-with-the-dac-usb-output/1205
  3. Thanks guy, but i would like to have the opinion of someone who have tested the product without buying it
  4. And what is your first feedback about the Aries G2 (without the Vega G2) as a pure streamer against original Aries ? I'll pull the trigger to the Aries G2, but if the differences are not here or very subtle and you need the Aries G2+Vega G2 to unleash the potential of the Aries G2, i'll retain myself ...
  5. I've the same issue with 4.1 and Wi-Fi. No issues with ethernet wirh 5.0 beta. I didn't test with the latest version (5.0). I've a new DAC to test during 14 days, i hope that my Aries will work tonight and this week ...
  6. The desktop tidal application does it but not the Aries. I did my test with Tidal in lightning server/DS.
  7. Yes i've made some testing from Tidal. Tidal does not do the first unfold, the stream is 24/44.1 or 24/48. Normally the streamer unfold from this stream. It's what the Aries does. With the firmware 4.1, MQA was played as 24/44.1 or 24/48 (pass-through in fact).
  8. Same thoughts here. I would like to be able to match all the input signal of my DAC with downsampling to the right signal. It misses me the downsampling of DSD128 and higher. for the upsampling, i don't care i've tested some albums in MQA with upsampling (24/88) and it sounds more artificial than the 24/44.1 PCM file. I uses the precise mode (don't sure it affects MQA decoding but it seems). Same things with PCM upsampling, it sounds more digital and without soul.
  9. I confirm that no option to upsample everything in DSD. And no downsample to PCM for DSD128 and higher
  10. Does the next firmware will be able to convert DSD128 and higher in PCM or DSD64 ? My DAC is not handling more than DSD64 and i've some files in DSD128 or 256 (no release in DSD64) ? The new VEGA G2 will handle DSD512 and i suppose that the internal streamer too ? As the streamer in the VEGA G2 is an original Aries, i can suppose that the actual Aries will be able to handle DSD512 too ?
  11. On the first pic on the Vega G2 in the computer audiophile article, we can see 44.1Khz-->DSD64 so it means pcm to dsd upsampling ... questions : L-LINK is also displayed, so the feature is only avalaible with the processor ? Or in the G2 ? And for the Aries original, will it be included ?
  12. Do you use a Synology NAS ? If it's the case, can you give us the Software version of DSM ? I've got some issue of library unmounted or not mounted with my Synology NAS with the later updated. I've rollbacked to previous version but i've to do more testing.
  13. Ok, but the Vega do the "same thing" no ? Upsample before convert to analog ? Will you use R-2R to in the G2 after the Multi-bit DAC ?
  14. You can have a web interface for the setup too ... THe Vega G2 seems to be a new products with more features and maybe a little more complex with a lot of settings. Doing that with a rotary knob can be painfull and a web interface is a more easy web to so that. So web interface and firmware update ? G2, like Auralic said is a new product, a new architecture and act like a computer. So this time it may can be updated by the user (the original Vega can not be)
