EtherREGEN: Installation, Usage, Difficulty, Questions thread
t_ram replied to Superdad's topic in UpTone Audio (Sponsored)
Hi everybody, I received my EtherRegen this week and have been enjoying it with the stock ps but am looking at trying my Astron SL-11r with it. I’ve adjusted the voltage to 12v but before I hook it up I just wanted to make sure everything else associated with the Astron is agreeable. Anything to be concerned about? Thanks https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/asr-sl-11r -

Very nice, thank you! What power supply are you using for the ER? -

I have an ER on order for the next batch so I’m looking forward to comparing it to a Linear Solution OCXO switch. Anybody by chance already have their ER and previously owned a Linear Solution’s switch? -

@butifull01 How would you describe what you hear between the Terminator and Golden Atlantic? -
Thanks! Just uploaded it now. My username needed changing so it's under tomy2 there.

I have one UltraCap LPS-1 power supply from Uptone Audio for sale. Comes with an IFI iPower 9v 2a to power it and a Canare 4S6 star quad dc cable I made that far surpassed any dc cable I've used with it save for a Sonore dc4 which costs considerably more. The star quad cable came about after reading John Swenson's thread at Computer Audiophile. I do not have the original box the LPS-1 came in but everything will be packaged and shipped well. $old shipped Priority Mail. PayPal

So I've been contemplating getting something like a sonicTransporter to replace my 2011 Mac Mini which houses Roon server that is then hooked up to a Sonore ultraRendu before going to my Atlantic Plus. I upsample Tidal and everything else in Roon's dsp to dsd128 but if I try 256 I get the occasional static pops but even still I can get the sense that 256 is pretty sweet. Is the static pops a result of my Mac Mini being sluggish or is it the amanero in the Atlantic? Is the new firmware still only in regards to native dsd with Linux? Hate to get something new like a sonicTransporter i5 or i7 and still have some issues.

Well that makes it easy then. Thanks for taking the time and helping me understand this!

Thanks again for the feedback. I guess the the only thing that would kinda stink is I'd have to get another Roon liscense for the sT. At least that's what I think I have read somewhere, I can't just use what I already have on the Mini. I like that I can have all the upsampling capability with just the i5 and save some money versus getting the i7. Definitely thinking hard about this...
