It's Like a Jungle Out There
  1. You using Quadro cards? Or which cards. I'm interested to see if I could run them on a Mac. More for my research. I work at a Mac shop and we build systems for high end applications. Thanks!
  2. I use Both boot camp & VM WareFusion. I am running Windows 10 , 8, 7 & XP. I used to also run Ubuntu and FreeBSD I pretty much only run boot camp when I'm gaming or using programs that need all 8 cores, Ram or video card.
  3. Go ahead switch to Mac! You can run Windows on Mac! Best of both worlds.
  4. I imagine the pricing is set by the label and Tidal just adds there cut, which unfortunally adds to the higher cost. My example. Public Enemy - Man Plans God Laughs TIDAL $17.99 PONO N/A CD $23.99
  5. I get that, but not all music is in high-res.
  6. I doubt Tidal has anything to do with pricing. The record companies pricing is fragmented across the different mediums. Public Enemy's new album in Flac is cheaper then the CD and others the CDs are cheaper than the Flac. I'm just happy that there is going to be a good source of lossless music available. I'll be streaming mostly except when I need lossless music to DJ with.
  7. I've been waiting for this for awhile. Finally no need to buy CDs!
  8. I don't own a receiver and not interested in surround sound. So what do I do? I feed all HDMI into a HDMI Multichannel to Two Cannel Converter connected via RCA to my preamp. The converter can be hooked up Optical or RCA. Don't let the optical port hold you back. I'm still using a 1980's Amp and Preamp lol[h=1][/h]
  9. We never lost our empire, we ditched the British. Playing around with the AppleTV 4 is part of my job along with listening to music and doing tech for everything Apple related.
  10. Um......back to the topic. We received the New AppleTV at work today. It defiantly changes the way you use TV, no complaints from me.
  11. Networking: 10/100BASE-T Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
  12. Just thought I'd mention it. I have yet to see any issues with office and El Cap. Since it only been a couple of days and mostly sorting out issues with other software.
  13. I am a service tech and 7/10 a spinning wheel is the beginning signs of drive failure. The rate of failure is high on a drive that's 3 years and older.
  14. RoonServer running 24/7 and the Roon app on the iPad works perfect on a headless Mac Mini. https://roonlabs.com
