  1. Thanks for the thoughts. Agree! Your point #4 reminded me of that story about Carver making his amp sound like any other they want and getting reviewers to try to tell them apart.
  2. Why do so many audiophiles dislike/distrust and avoid room correction software products? I see this on multiple forums and in conversations with many.
  3. I wonder how many people have TheComputerAudiophile on ignore?
  4. Well if Amir weren't banned here, he could provide his input.
  5. I will send my Regen to Amir so he can publish the measurements. Should be interesting. I don't use it anyway.
  6. The USB board on my Gungir stopped working. $150 for a replacement from Schiit. No discount offered for the defective part. I wouldn't buy another Schiit DAC.
  7. I have the second. Have an offer for a trade to the first. Would I even notice the difference? Like turning Dirac on and off i.e. anyone would notice the improvement? Or switching to a new wall outlet i.e. most would argue whether anything actually changed?
  8. Tim OBrien, Red on Blonde is great. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  9. So you're confirming your previous outlet was corroded/broken/mis-installed, correct?
  10. I've got it figured out, now. Don't run Dirac processor when calibrating. Crash problem fixed. Soundstage smearing also fixed. Interestingly (amazingly), Dirac told me that my chair was not centered between my speakers. My resulting filters had a slight delay in one channel. I got a laser measure and sure enough, it was off about 3 inches. After fixing this, and redoing the cal, there was no delay between channels in the new filter. And now...the soundstage is dead center and pinpoint. I realize this doesn't make sense. The delay between channels on the original filter SHOULD have fixed a soundstage problem. Well, it didn't. But no worries; t's good now. Frankly, I'm amazed with this software. I love it. I'm definitely getting it. Super cool.
  11. Anybody else's Dirac crash A LOT!
  12. Good to know. Hadn't read that. Thank you.
  13. I've taken several measurements, now, where I didn't move anything, but all of the filters sounds slightly different with the soundstage moving around, if nothing else.
  14. Think how much better it'll sound once yu do it correctly!
  15. I'm using the Umik-1, on a stand in at ear position, pointing straight up. I don't have the software with me, now, so I'm going from memory on your other questions. Stand alone 30-day trial software with a Mac Mini. I recall setting the speakers "just below 24dB", I believe was the recommended setting (don't recall the "green area"). And I have not tried a custom curve, yet, or know if that's an option, even. Thanks for the help... the software is fun to mess with.
