  1. This is what I do with my Synology NAS. Can access files from my phone anywhere with a signal.
  2. Sennheiser HD6XX - the massdrop edition.. $195
  3. Two emails to Audirvana and no response.. WEAK. -1 for them. They just put out a new version 3.5.14 (3544) and the problem has been fixed. I would've appreciated some feedback from them letting me know they were aware of the issue and working for a resolution.
  4. Hey all, I've reported this to Audirvana, but haven't heard anything back yet.. I'm a music hoarder, so constantly adding stuff to my library, which resides on my Synology NAS. Updated to Audirvana 3.5.13 (3543) and things worked great until i cleared the library and tried to rebuild all of it. I can see my NAS from the library database file path in Audirvana settings and then i click OK and get the error "Fatal Error adding folder to watch list. Unexpected error while adding folder /Volumes/Music the watch list" I tried adding the folders each manually, but my library is pretty big (3TB or so) and eventually Audirvana tells me it can't add anymore. Anyone have any ideas?
  5. you could start searching for used CD's and then rip them to a lossless format..
  6. I'm a prog fan.. Yes, ELP, Spock's Beard, King Crimson, etc... While poking around online, i saw this article: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/crack-the-sky-the-strange-survival-story-of-the-best-u-s-prog-band-youve-never-heard-707669/ OK.. my interest was piqued, so i got on YouTube and listened to their first album from 1975. HOLY COW!! Fantastic from start to finish.. Can't believe I've never heard of them before now (I'm 55). Anyway... check them out.. I've purchased their first 3 CDs as well as their "Living In Reverse" album from this past summer. Can't say enuff good things..... Wish the record company hadn't messed them up.. they should be HUGE.
  7. Sad. Keeping my 105D until it croaks.
  8. I have a safe deposit box at my bank. $65 per year. 3 WD passport drives in there with all my music, photos, movies, documents, etc. I update them quarterly. At home, I have everything on a Synology NAS...
  9. Good deal, Wayne!! I don't think there is much wear and tear on when you rip a disc. All disc players are made to play discs over and over for years....
  10. Anthem Statement D2V processor Wyred4Sound MC500 (5 channels @ 500W each - class D) Speakers are KEF R300 on Custom Designs FS104 stands (sand filled middle tube) KEF R400B sub.. Synology DS1515+ NAS which has 12TB on it.. 80% filled with music and movies. Sony PS3, which I don't use much anymore. Tivo Roamio OTA Panamax power conditioner. KEF center and some yamaha surrounds finish up the HT speakers.. not a huge HT guy..
  11. Thanks to all who made this possible!!! I am using Sonore's ISO2DSD on my Mac-Mini to rip all my SACDs on my Oppo105D and it's working GREAT!!
  12. Thanks for the info, Dave... Much appreciated. I tried the Oppo MediaCenter app and it's OK, but I prefer to use the Synology because it's easier navigate and build playlists on the fly, etc. I too wish Oppo would develop more features to make the 105 more of a music server... for critical listening I will probably navigate from the Oppo to the NAS and for when people are over and I want to just have music in the background, I'll use the Synology stuff.. I'm coming from Logitech Squeezebox/iPeng combo which was awesome... I guess I'm spoiled. :-)
  13. Andrew Jones created these for Pioneer and they have been very well received.. Big bang for the buck... I've not heard them, but read lots of good things. Pioneer SP-BS22-LR loudspeaker | Stereophile.com "It's impressive when a talented speaker designer such as Andrew Jones takes time off from designing $80,000/pair speakers to come up with a quality speaker costing less than $200/pair. It's even more impressive when he takes the time to revise and refine such an inexpensive design. Jones's SP-BS22-LR is a stunning achievement at $159.99/pair. Its sound is balanced, neutral, and involving, with no significant shortcomings. I'm scratching my head at how Pioneer can produce this level of quality at this price. Every audiophile—even well-heeled investment bankers—should listen to the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR, to hear what's possible for the fiscally challenged music lover."
