I'm all for superior mastering.....but I'm running out of the pre-amp's capacity. I'm not focused on playing music loud....I'm listening to jazz or acoustic music....at what I consider a reasonable volume.

I've downloaded a dozen or so High Def albums from HD Tracks and I notice that I have to turn the volume up on my Cambridge PreAmp almost to the max to get the sound at the same level as standard files 44/16 at -20db. Any thoughts as to what might cause this?
