Hello guys,
This is my first post here. I am looking for some more info regarding my setup please.
The plan: Listen to High Ress music stored in iMac from my Hi-Fi
Current Situation: I got a Rotel RA-12, which has two digital inputs. I want to use one of them to connect my iMac so I will enjoy High Ress music from my Music Library. At the moment I am streaming from iTunes to Apple TV3 which is connected to the Rotel RA-12 via optical cable.
Due to AirPlay limitations all my music is down sampled to 44.1kHz.
As a result of this I came up with this solution but I want some input if it will work and if it will provide some improvement in terms of sound quality.
Possible Solution: Use an adapter like this (Ligawo ® Toslink Adapter Toslink optical jack: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics) and a 10m Toslink cable (like this: AKORD® 10 Metre White TOSLINK Gold Plated High: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics) to connect the iMac to the Rotel. Then using applications such as Channl D – Pure Music enjoy High-Ress playback to my Hi Fi.
Thanks for the input. Let me know if you need further info
Regards
V
