  1. Just a heads up that Chord released an updated driver which addressed this problem. The problem was that Yosemite on a Mac Mini it causes more load on the processor slowing down the audio data transfer resulting in drop outs. Strangely not all Mac Minis are affected, but the new driver uses a different system which after 3 weeks of listening seems to work. Thanks for Matthew Barrett and the folks at Chord who resolved this relatively quickly -- especially when they have a new product out. Joe
  2. I didn't think of this as an option. My XP server died in December so the Mac Mini I received had Yosemite installed at factory. I'll call tech support to see if this is an option.
  3. Got it. I didn't actually realize what you were actually suggesting. I'll check out the Gustard.
  4. Thanks for replying Mario -- even if a bit disheartening. I have an email exchange with Chord, but will reconfirm that I have a late model Mac Mini and hope they'll get a driver out soon. But agree chances are bleak, especially with a new model available. I might look for another DAC as well which is unfortunate as I don't have the kind of wallet I did when I bought the Chrodette. Joe
  5. Is anyone else having issues with Chord DACs on Yosemite? My old windows server died so I needed to upgrade. I got a Mac Mini, but the latest drivers for the Chordette Qute HD are Mavericks. When listening via USB after about 45 minutes or so I eventually encounter skips when listening via iTunes or Spotify. If I switch output to headphone jack and back again to the DAC the music plays smoothly, but after a few minutes the skips & pops return. I emailed Chord, but am getting little response. Hope they come out with Yosemite drivers soon to address the issue. -- Mac Mini late 2014 -- OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 -- 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 -- 16 GB RAM
  6. My XP machine finally died so I recently got a MacMini with Yosemite. There are no Yosemite drivers available, so I tried Mavericks -- the most recent Mac OS for which drivers are available. Unfortunately after 20-30 minutes of playing audio the signal is now plagued with skips and pops. Any word on when Chord will be releasing Yosemite drivers? Am worried that with the newer version they may stop updating the QuteHD.
