  1. All I can say is that::: Good luck on your trip. Please do update your <3 pursuit of the speakers. I just wish I have the knowledge of greate speakers, DACs, etc. I really enjoyed your sharing.
  2. I think it is because older guys have the $ and time (empty or emptied nest) to pursue their hobbies like cars, audio, collections, and wines. An old man once told me that he couldn't wait for all of his 'dependents' to leave so he can live like a bachelor again. He wants to spend all his money on toys and audio equipments without being nagged. We only live once in our life time. Why not? Sometimes I thought about what he said... and this poll reminds me of his wishes...
  3. Yes, good suggestion. I am waiting for a high-definition piece of the same song to reach to me by the end of this August. snail speed traveling CD from Asia). This song is a very old Chinese song. I heard that the singer has released an HD quality CD. Felt like that my question is probably never going to have answer(s) because if I pick up the guitar sound changing from left to right back and forth only through v-moda on a same crapy (or altered?) youtube song. Then the possibilities could be: 1) there weren't two players <<< very likely 2) there were two players <<< very unlikely 3) there was only 1 player but he switches his position while recording in a 4-5 seconds of prelude. <<< very unlikely, 4) my head is hallucinating, and it only happens when I use vModa. <<< kind of likely. And, whoever has done things to that piece of Youtube song really got me!
  4. I don't have any high-resolution samples to listen with my newly purchased vmoda m-100 headphone yet. (still traveling) I noticed a very interesting thing: I can distinctively 'hear' a guitar sound switching from left to right, back and forth twice in my favorite song, which I never notice it before (same Youtube streaming). Then I discuss it with my hubby, he asks me if I know there are supposed to have two different guitar players or not? If not, then I'm listening to something created by v-Moda.... hmmm... He scared me. But I like to ask you all if you have experienced such things in your listenings. Could he be right? This question is quite isolated to how much distortion a headphone can give where there is no DAC, amplifier, or software to adjust... only steaming from Youtube. Thanks a lot!! <3 d(- -)b
  5. 4K of memory, it's still larger than my memory. Even though I consider myself still ''young''... I hate to admit that I also learned it, forgot about it, and didn't miss it. Then, the 'hello World' in between machine, Basic, Pascal, Lisp, Fortran, C... C++, Unix shell scripts, database languages, now cyber apps... metamorphous of our lives... Honestly, I really admire those who have been through the real history of computer era!! Good job.
  6. Got it! Now iLearn! Thanks a lot for the explanation. I assume that this iPower can be used to connect other devices that benefit from clean 5V usb bus power as well. Only thing is that it is probably not very convenient to carry these stuffs around. That iPower looks like a laptop AC/DC adapter.
  7. Of course you (we) are not old at all. uh... what was I talking about?
  8. Didn't mean to veer off the poll. But I really respect all of you who had the 1st hand experience on [dinosaur] computers. You've come a long long way!
  9. Serious? I noticed one of those cables were put in the wrong slot. You were really working on those machines? Salute!!
  10. + never saw these kinds of things... you won.
  11. Thank God I was at the tail of the punch cards era! And, it's easier to 'borrow' someone's homework as our own because the punch holes will be the same.... same rights and same wrongs as well. haha.. Oh, I missed those good old days. Programming was just a few lines, no object oriented or Java scripts... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_programming_in_the_punched_card_era
  12. +1 But I am on the side of weaker gender in this poll... I felt sorry for not helping my geder to win even if I voted. I self-diagnosed myself with big ADD. sigh.
  13. Maybe there should be a 3rd question... Are you an ADD? I only voted my age but didn't see the 'male' or 'female' poll. (not that it is important, but I really didn't want to miss answering the easiest question in this forum, darn it. I missed the question.!) So, my answer is::::: Female.... Female... and Female... If I've given 3 more chances to answer it! Yes, I am a big ADD as well, I always miss the most important questions right in front of my eyes.
  14. sorry... I am more confused about iEverything. iDAC2 is USB bus powered. but you can still stick it to an AC adapter (one end has USB and the other end to AC outlet?) It's hard for an out-of-date iKnowledge person to follow all the iGadgets. Please forgive me if I am slow to understand the configuration.
  15. And, the price? How is it powered? USB? I hope this link also talks about the same iDAC 2. A bit confused.
