  1. Put the V-LINK in the system last night. Wow. Big difference! My acid tests are The Smashing Pumpkins "Muzzle" from Mellon Collie and the Infinity Sadness (96Khz/24 bit) and "I Dreamed a Dream" from the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary concert (CD). The vocals on both of these songs can be "edgy", and usually have me reaching to down down the volume. With the V-LINK in line this characteristic was much less pronounced. There was an ease to the presentation that I have never heard from my 2.5i's. Now, onto the Multibit...
  2. Yes, I think for $250 the upgrade seems to be reasonable. I installed the P5 in line last night. Everything, especially bass, is much improved. Transients are downright explosive. The forward, bright upper mid/highs have not been tamed at all though. I am hoping the V-LINK will help here. If not, I'm going to look at upgrading to different speakers. Sent from my SM-G928T using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  3. It has been many moons since my last post on this forum, but I finally found some funds to upgrade my system. I run a multipurpose home theater/music system that consists of: -Marantz SR-6010 HT Receiver -EAD PM 500 and 1000 5 channel amps -Oppo BDP-103 -Asus ROG Windows 10 laptop, JRiver, Fidelizer Extremist -Schiit Bifrost Uber w/ USB Gen 2 -NHT 2.5i towers, AC-1 Center, and 1.5 surrounds (4) speakers -Rythmik F12 and Outlaw LFM-1EX subs I picked up a Parasound P5 on the 'Gon which should be here today. After reading about some users experiencing a smoother response using a MF V-Link I found one for sale on Ebay, and I intend to try that out, and see the results versus straight USB. I am seriously considering upgrading the Bifrost, too, but I think I will wait and see the results of all my tinkering before I commit to the Multibit. Thoughts?
  4. Just want to add my experience to the thread. I have a mid-fi system by most audiophile standards, and it is a home theater/music/living room based system; therefore, it will never sound as good as I would like due to these constraints. I have been very impressed with the addition of the Schiit Bifrost Uber USB DAC to my sytem, but I am REALLY impressed with the freeware version of Fidelizer running in Extremist mode. Audiophile was good, but WOW...Extremist took all of the edge off my bright/harsh hard rock music. Soundstage, instrument separation, and overall detail are also improved sans-Fidelizer. Very impressed, and I fully intend to move up to the Pro version in the near future. Thanks Windows X!
