  1. Unfortunately Apple TV support just stated that the current version of Apple TV does not support PCM output, and was clueless as to if the soon to be released version does. I really like the idea of connecting the minidsp directly via HDMI to the AppleTV which I use for streaming, but at this point I have a concern regarding this setup. I guess I could put a surround preamp in-between the Apple TV and the mini-dsp but this seems to be an additional moving part I'd like to skip. On that question, can surround preamp's pass converted channel info out via HDMI as well as via the normal RCA outs? Thanks in advance for your input.
  2. I'm looking into streaming from an Apple TV directly to a miniDSP (the nanoAVR HDA) via HDMI, and need to know if the Apple TV (either the current version, or the new one to be issued shortly) supports multichannel PCM output? I'd like to use the minidsp as an active crossover for two channels (stereo) and/or for surround sound down the road- for the latter I may need a dolby decoder as well ? The miniDSP nanoAVR HDA HomeTheater Series : nanoAVR HDA
  3. Apple users can use a toslink connection (vs USB) light waves ahead....
