  1. Its awful. I select a song in the play queue, however it proceeds to restart the song I was already listening to. Another fundamental problem is, halfway through a song it randomly skips to a different track. Is it me or has anybody else had a torrid time with it?
  2. Sorry, had no coffee when I posted that- a better description of the problem is that A) track number 1 of some albums is missing and b) the titles of the songs are incorrect, they appear to be out of phase by 1 track. Any ideas what's going on?/ Thanks
  3. Hey all I have just started a trial period of Audirvana+. For some albums, but not all, when I select a track to play, Audirvana does not play that track, rather the next one in the album. Is this a known issue?
  4. Thanks guys. Your views echo what I've read. Why I wonder is the remote app for jriver that much better than the one for Audirvana?
  5. hi all Just really a new starter in terms of my own music collection (streaming up to now). Any advice on the cheapest method to build on a digital music collection of hi res (24/96) files. FLAC format. Thanks!
  6. Sorry, from reading elsewhere I have come to that conclusion on Audirvana
  7. I think the point on buying a 2 channel amp without built in technology (DAC, streamer, wifi etc) is a fair one, but debatable. If your setup sounds great now, is easy to use, and has all the connectivity you want now, there is no real reason for you to not go with that now and for it to serve you for dozens of years to come. After all, many people are still listening to LP records!! (not me) However, with all that said, I do in fact agree. I think maybe a nice modern 2 channel high quality integrated amp is in order for me. Does modern tech apply to integrated amps (apart from class D) ???
  8. Thanks. It looks like Audirvana+ is the most recommended.
  9. Thanks for the advice. My Amp has coax input. Any recommendations on a particular USB to SPDIF converter?
  10. I tried it this evening. Playing HD on YouTube was great. Currently I have an optical cable running from the 3.5mm digital out into the optical in on my Marantz. What does the USB converter do? I have no USB input on my Marantz unfortunately.
  11. on your point of watching movies via flash, do you mean if I hook up the mini to the TV and watch YouTube videos for example? Thanks.
  12. I'm new to streaming so please bear with me. After researching I have but the bullet and got a new Mac mini ( bought the cheapest 4gb ram, 500gb storage, on the premise that large processing power isn't required and that I can add on external hdd for more space). I wish to control the Mac mini via my iPad over a non Internet access enabled local wifi network. My music is in flac format for the most part. the mini will connect to the digital In on my amp via toslink. So which software is best in my case? THanks.
  13. Got a Mac mini today ( got the slower cpu / 4 gb ram / 500gb version - hope I can make up for it by adding external hdd)! This might change things. I like the look of the Peachtree nova 150 now.....
