  1. Thanks guys, Here is some more information and some trouble shooting I have done. I have JRiver MC 20 configured as DLNA on another computer in another room in my home. It uses the same library on the NAS as the CAPS server. Connecting the Qute EX to the digital out of my OPPO 105 I can play play all files on the NAS in native format. My files are 44.1K, 24-96 and 24-192. Using DLNA and bypassing the CAPS and the Chord drivers everything works. This is how I auditioned the Qute EX before I had a server. Found out that the Qute EX sounded great in my system. Put it on the to do list. Got the CAPS and set it up with JRiver and downloaded the OPPO 105 driver to test everything out. The OPPO played everything fine but was not my sound. The Qute EX was no longer a current product but available, but the 2Qute was out and available to borrow. I borrowed it from my dealer downloaded the driver and everthing worked perfectly during the audition period. I am probably in the minority here but did not care for the 2Qute in my system. Decided to purchase the Qute EX download the driver and use it. Did not think anything of it after getting the OPPO 105 and the 2 Qute up and running, but now a snafu. My dealer had an experience similiar to this and had to go into computer settings to fix it and feels that this is where the problem lies. He can't recall exactly what he did. He believes he found the information on the internet using search terms and suggested I go that route as a start. I did not find anything except some posts regarding the Qute EX and JRiver issues the same as mine from other folks and mentioning the drivers might be the issue? I am not sure what is really causing the problems. I am starting to rule out JRiver and the DAC itself as they both work perfectly but add in the drivers and Windows 8.1 Pro and something seems to be going wrong. If there are some setting changes to be made on the computer and JRiver that would be perfect. The drivers being an issue is whole other thing and I'm not sure if there is a work around for this. So using the Wasapi driver I can play every 44.1k file but no files of 24-96 or 24-192. Using the Kernal Streaming I can play every file but JRiver freezes. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks Jim
  2. Hi,Found some threads relating to the same issue that I am having, but I didn't read about a fix so far.Issue is that using Kernal Streaming as recommended in the Chord manual causes JRiver to freeze and not respond when I switch to a different album or to a file with a different bit rate. The computer has to be rebooted to get JRiver up and running again. Every file type plays though. When using Wasapi everything is fine except only 16 bit 44.1 K recordings will play. 24 bit 96 and 24 bit 192 will not play. It seems like they are not recognized? So everthing is fine except can't play Hi Def files with Wasapi. So far Wasapi seems the way to go. Just need to be able to play Hi Def files and I'm good to go. If I get there then DSD files will be next. I have worked my way through the JRiver Audio setup guide and the Trouble shooting guide but no luck so far.I thought I would try this group as everyone is most likely much more knowledgable than me on these issues. I am new to computer audio and can follow directions but I am not an expert in this area. This is my first post as this is my first Computer Audio system and I have my first problem I can't seem to solve. My initial feelings are that it is either a settings issue or it is a driver issue. Any help is appreciated. Not sure if my system will post with my thread so some basics: C.A.P.S. v4 Pipeline server running Windows 8.1 Pro. JRiver Media Center 20 software. Chord Qute EX DAC. Shunyata USB cable. Synology 412+ NAS.Thanks Jim
