In my experience the internet connection for firmware updating doesnt need to be wired. Firmware is downloaded first before starting the actual updating so should be safe just to try to set the connection up and search for for the updated fw in LDS.

I agree to that.... How many times have we previously seen nice software of all kinds grow into bloated non functioning "suites". To play with a few well thought out extras could be OK but in no way before all core functions is in place and rock solid.

Agree, it would be a really handy feature to be able to define a personal default view.

So did I, but obviously not enough into considering full consequences before doing the radical.... I did see some mumbling from Auralic earlier about making an export function for it. We´d like that a lot wouldnt we...?

I do wish Id been more patient trying to work thru other potential ways to fix it.... Missing my playlists very much.

Updated LDS to v1.7: When touching the radio station section LDS crashes. (also after full close). Had few stations defined prior to updating. Is this just with me? Any suggestions? ----------------------------- Took the radical step to remove the Lightning DS app completely and boot the iPad. Reintalled afterwards. Now working but of course lost library cache, saved playlists cache, defined radio stations..... Would love to see a function for saving playlists and other settings.

Think I experienced something quite similar with the device not fully detectable/playable after the upgrade. It did however loose both its name and Wifi connection. Havent figured the exact working measure out yet but after several trips into the new wifi mode in Aries it did finally catch on. Was going to do factory default as next try and still might end up doing so tomorrow. But for now at least the Aries is alive and able to play both from library and Wimp. It does however seem like it looses Wifi conncetion on every boot. Never done that before. Just now...looking forward to daybreak so I can get the family up and out the door for a listening session. ------------- OK seems this crossed you having solved it just above
