May i ask what version of windows you are referring to?

not for me. windows has always been my nightmare while mac osx keeps me stress free... most of the time

to be honest. since i got my first mac, i have turned into a bit of a mac snob..haha. compared to windows, everything just works....i have always had lots of issues with windows

Thnk you Mike! i will do as you suggested. I do use iTunes as my library manager and I understand what you are saying. My only real problem now will be the long process of replacing my mp3 files first of all with aiff versions if i can find. then as i find i will convert to ALAC. that makes sense right?

i see. but flac not work on iphone i am told. so in that case must be ALAC right? yes. it appears that mp3 is frowned upon by you guys! haha. i understand why. It's S**t in comparison.

so if not ALAC, what other options are there for iphone? i need keep file size small. aiff is too big too have many songs on iphone as you know.

i was planning to use aiff format then flac. but it seems i can't use flac on iphone according to Kumakuma. i don't have an external DAC at the moment. all music is on mbp and use iphone when i go out.

aah i see. i was going to try for a library rebuild all in aiff format at first. then was going to flac any tracks that would go on my iphone. so i can't do that? ALAC file size is similar to flac or not?

yes! i have begun this process! but it is soooo time consuming! hopefully i will finish some time this year! Most of my music library i only have mp3's so not much i can do about those. Just trying to find certain tracks in a higher format.

sorry to be a pain. but still curious about this as i have never used linux. is linux better than osx ?
