Thanks for the reply jtm. It’s always difficult to know which would sound better until you try it out with your own gear. I need to find a place that would allow me to audition at home. I guess I was wondering if I find a way to have high res digital sound as good as vinyl. I currently use a Technics SLQ202 deck with an Ortofon 2m Blue through a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2. Through my current set up, if I play the high res files through a USB stick, the vinyl sounds better: more natural and the imaging is more detailed, not so grainy. Dynamics through vinyl are also better. It’s not a huge difference, but it’s there nonetheless. Network sourced material loses some of the detail and dymnics as compared to the USB; like there’s a veil in front of the speakers. I was wondering if something like the NP50 would resolve this issue.
