I've been looking at getting a mac mini and a dacmagic (or even using windows 7) and have been trying to figure out the same thing. So...i would guess if i hook the analog and digital to different inputs of my receiver then i should be able to get the 5.1 pass through when watching videos with 5.1 on say aux in, and analog out to CD in and just change to that when listening to 2-track info...right? Is it better to hook this up via USB or from the digital out of a mac mini or other htpc? Having to get up and switch everytime would be a bit annoying
