  1. Hi Liam yes I moved to a new build which is a detached building of 4 cottages style flats basically a large building separate into 4 two bedrooms flats, although very nice and noise should not be to much of an issue but the woman downstairs as a drink problem and very unstable, she cornered me today to ask if I had a fan running at night as it was bothering her,I have a small portable fan I use in computer room when it gets to hot I can barely here it but she spotted it on window sill from outside and gave her something to complain about again, my neighbors have told me to just ignore her but it spoils my whole experience as she slams doors and windows and talks badly of me to who ever she can get to listen, when she's drunk she has an old radio blasting Gaelic music lol Headphones are an option I considered but to be honest I am going to move when I can afford too and start over again,I loved my Wilson Benesch Trinity speakers but there of to there new home in Australia now.
  2. Thanks 91 yes it is a great opportunity for someone and I have lowered the price to £2500 I wish I could have found a deal like that when I started my journey and AMR are such a great company, yes I think they could have done a better job getting it out there for reviews and advertising especially when it is so good
  3. Yes a beautiful sounding Dac I have never had any issues using USB on AMR and I had Auralic Aries streamer connected through USB without any issues which uses a Linux driver I am very surprised my AMR is still for sale I have had on EBay 3 times for a very reasonable price but only silly offers I sold everything else no problem and maybe people have lost faith in this Dac with problems that we had with volume even though there fixed now a google search will always suggest issues.
  4. It is with great sadness that I am selling my DP-777se she is running beautifully since problems with volume control chip was fixed, repair was beginning of year so can safely say this unit should not cause any problems and in first class condition, sounds truly amazing,I have parted with all my HiFi stuff and only my Wilson Benesch Trinity speakers in premium Finnish and Dac left,I moved home and unfortunately I have a nabour from hell who makes my life miserable when I play music, give me a shout if interested in great deal thanks
  5. Hi Audiogalore, sounds like you might have a faulty volume chip few of us have been working with Owen from AMR to resolve this problem and AMR have stated they have a fix,i received my DP back yesterday and it sounds wonderful i have sent Owen an Email regarding your problem and i am sure he will contact you very soon but you could contact AMR direct if you wish, your DP will have to be shipped for repair i think by sound of it as this behavior is not normal.
  6. Hi i use Rega power cables and find them very good but have not experimented with anything other than Rega
  7. Hi John Yeh Owen has just filled me in on the problem and would seem not all units are affected and there is a solution now so all good, there was a fault with some chips it would seem but the problem does present its self within first 2 months and in most cases in first few days,AMR support is fantastic and makes dealing with this easier but lets hope we have seen the last of this volume Gremlin.
  8. Hi John, yes i had to return my DP-777se after upgrade with faulty volume control and received it back after 2 weeks fixed but last week the problem came back, volume jumps to full blast if i touch volume up or down, right and left channel cut out as well,my Dac is going back to AMR tomorrow again, Owen has been looking after me,i was asked not to post problems here and to contact AMR directly and did this not wanting to harm AMR sales as i thought problem was pacific to my unit,i can now see why i was asked to not post here as it would seem there is a real issue with something after upgrade,my unit was under 6 months old and working perfectly before upgrade to se! I can't fault AMR for there support which is excellent and we will have to work with them to resolve this matter once and for all,i am been given a replacement Dac iDac2 while AMR get to bottom of this problem which i am very great full of even if it will be a downgrade for a while, would have been nice to get a replacement DP-777se or there top CD player to listen to but not to be,also spent nearly £600 on ifi Gemini USB cable and ifi micro iusb 3.0 to take Dac to next level but Dac not been working long enough for proper evaluation.
  9. Fantastic write up very interesting and wish i could have had things put so elegantly when researching for my last Dac!
  10. yeh i work nights so was perfect time to talk,i am starting to wonder if my problem is a faulty USB module, after factory reset i lost lock With USB and i do remember when i had the volume problem and loosing channels i was using USB connection to Aries and there was a problem with USB locking also, cant use USB as of now so i am using AES EBU lets see if problem is there also been playing 30 minutes no problem.
  11. Thanks Liam i was looking in manual for factory reset procedure but mist it,will give it a go i was exchanging emails with Owen from AMR last night into early hours of morning, there support is fantastic,AMR are having my Dac picked up on Friday so they can have a look cant ask more than that
  12. i am experiencing some strange behavior when using AMR DP-777se volume control on remote or front panel!last night i was listening to music using Dac with Pre and turned music down only for music to jump very load, tried again and started losing one channel then other, have switched Dac power of and thought that solved it but came back later the Dac is not usable with its Pre as good chance i will damage my speakers, anyone have any ideas?
  13. Hi if you still need 1.39 firmware update file pm with your email and i will send to you.
