  1. Hi flak How is Dirac doing? Have Dirac forgot and abandoned their music loving audiophiles? Your 1st April post seems to be a joke after all, or have I been missing something? From Dirac website and Facebook page it seems to me that Dirac is focusing only in virtual reality and mobile sound. I don't know this market at all, but that focus seems a bit strange to me. Virtual reality to me seems to be another reality than most of us are living in. A short lived hype more than the next big thing. Most people are listening to music on their mobile devices with 15$ headphones, do they care about Dirac? Dirac is in a very fragile position. Just imagine what would happen if Roon introduces a user friendly DRC. They already have the convolution engine, so the step would be very small. Next generation Dirac Live was announced December 6th 2017. Making false expectations can do more harm than good. I hope Dirac will keep head above water in the years to come. Fredrik
  2. I'm bumping this question again as I have not got any answers or found my way around. Has anyone successfully used external input through HQP Embedded? Ideally I want to use internal optical input on my Mac Mini. All advice is much appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Thanks for quick answer Miska. I have sent you email.
  4. I have a licence for HQP Linux 3.xxx. Do I need to buy new licence for HQP Linux (embedded) 4.xxx?
  5. I'm running Hqplayer Embedded installed on a USB stick as a bootable image in a Mac Mini, output is NAA running on RPI. I works flawless with Roon, so output side is ok. I want to use optical input on Mac Mini so I can play Spotify from another device trough HQP. Can I use native (internal) optical input on Mac Mini? Or do I have to connect some external device by USB? Thanks for all help.
  6. No. Remote controlled 47k potmeter wired to Buffalo III. ES9018 has internal volume control.
  7. @flak Thanks for the response on help desk. But my licence is still not working with windows. I get a not valid license error when trying to validate. When I log in to Dirac online store it says I have an active stereo license with two remaining installations. It has been 5 days since I replied back to the help desk email, but no one has replied yet. Thank you.
  8. @flak I have a Dirac OSX licence. Is it possible to convert to Win licence as I am about to replace my playback Mac with a PC? Thanks
  9. You need to use a software that can generate filters that HQP can implement. HQP can only apply a filter generated by another software. Google and check out: REW (freeware) Rephase fir tool (freeware) Acourate by Audio Vero (commercial)
  10. Dark thoughts are coming to my mind I´m thinking of abandoning both Hqplayer and Roon. The only reason is that there is no reasonable way to play Spotify trough Roon except http stream, and that is also true for HQP. Using http stream is just to much of a fiddling each time I want to play music, especially when used in combination with Roon. I primarily use HQP as a stand alone convolver for my crossover, and as a upsampler just because I can. I´m sure there is a way around if one knows a bit about programming, but as a power engineer I´m lost. Any thoughts on this subject? What are my options here to live happy with Hqplayer and Spotify/general streaming?
  11. Foud it! I needed to uprade GCC to v6. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test -y sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gcc-snapshot -y sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gcc-6 g++-6 -y sudo apt-get update
  12. @Miska Trying to install the hqpplayerd, but having some errors I can't figure out. Google could not help me out on this one. The following packages have unmet dependencies: hqplayerd : Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 6) but 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.4 is installed Some helpful hints will be appreciated! Thanks a lot
  13. VLC and Roon will run separately. No interaction. VLC has a nice audio capture feature that lets me capture Spotify output, then stream it out over http. Using the original Spotify app let me remotely control it by Spotify connect. Thanks for your help! I have got the hqp-control up and running. Still having a struggle to get the HQP to play any stream though.
  14. @Miska I´m a noob. I guess I have to download the hqp-control source code, then compile it or something before it gets useful? It seems like VLC does not support HEAD request. Extensive googling seems to confirm. Is that a requirement? My intention here is to find a way to push any audio source through HQP. I use it as a convolver for for FIR XO. Now the wife is demanding to use Spotify. She is tired of Roon interface.
  15. @MiskaThanks for your answer. It is a FLAC stream. I am using VLC to make the stream. Do you have any hqp-control for dummies documentation?
